Delve into this beautiful part of Pembrokeshire with a cluster of four traditional Welsh cottages at Dinas Country Club, which once formed part of an old monastery built over 650 years ago. The cottages were originally the barns and chapel and have now been lovingly restored, maintaining all of the original character and charm including beams, each cottage is nestled in the carefully manicured 22 acres of lawned grounds at the Dinas Country Club and surrounded by woodland. The cottages are within walking distance of Dinas Cross a small hamlet and all its amenities on the dramatic north Pembrokeshire coast and within the Pembrokeshire National Park. A coastal path runs through the site which formed part of the old pilgrims’ trail, indeed there is even a ’holy’ well where the monks would offer sustenance to pilgrims on their annual journey to St Davids. The footpath leads down to the pretty beaches of Cwm yr Eglwys, Pwllgwaelod and Aberfforest, with their scenic sea views of Dinas Head island.
Old Chapel Cottage was the former chapel and is a perfect romantic retreat, teeming with character with exposed stone walls, flagged floors, beams, tiny arrow slit alcoves, and in the kitchen a fantastic domed ceiling. Externally you can enjoy dining al fresco with a barbecue in your enclosed lawned garden complete with a patio area for sitting out. On an evening enjoy a movie curled up in front of the wood burner or a glass of wine in the garden. The bedroom has been lovingly furnished throughout offering a great night’s sleep.
The cottage enjoys all facilities on-site including a clubhouse dating back to the 13th century with beautiful log fire, the clubhouse offers real ales and is open at weekends, outdoor heated pool (seasonal opening), communal Wi-Fi, on-site bar, children’s play park and play field. Nearby a footpath takes you to the pretty coves of Cwm yr Eglwys, Pwllgwaelod, Aberfforest a 10 to 15-minute walk away. Walks abound in this coastal National Park, take in the scenery and the trail around Dinas Island and the village facilities of Dinas Cross are all within a short walk away. A fantastic day out for places to visit include Oakwood, Wales’ largest theme park, Heatherton World of Activities and Folly Farm Zoo, and all are within a 45-minute drive. A great day out for all is the walled town of Tenby, complete with beach, cobbled streets and a beautiful harbour. Why not take one of the many boat trips out and around this stunning coastline to discover the vast array of sea life and hopefully the resident dolphins. Beach 500 yards. Shop 1 yard, pub and restaurant 20 yards.
Old Chapel Cottage can be booked together with Keeper’s Nook (UK6753), Hay Barn (UK6754) and Old Rectory Cottage (UK6755) to accommodate up to 14 guests.
