A lovely old house in a very quiet (and quite tricky) location. The drive down the lane is not for the faint hearted or those with a low profile car!! The hairpin bend is OK and listen to the advice in taking it as wide as possible and dont worry how many 'turns' it takes! The Farmhouse is an impressive building and is set in wonderful grounds with so much wildlife around (deer, buzzards, rabbits, badgers etc). The only downside from our visit was that the fridge is 1 not very big and 2 not very cold! Also the cleaning prior to the visit could have been a bit better, whilst we appreciate that this is an old house the fire could have been cleaned out and there were cobwebs where cobwebs could easily be removed.... this is very much nit picking. Its a wonderful location for a base to the Cotswolds and we have a lovely time and may well return in warmer weather!

Nice quiet location with plenty of walking on doorstep for a short holiday, completely undisturbed break. Lovely inglenook open fire and decent dining facilities made it very cosy.

It was in the middle of nowhere, which is exactly what we wanted. It was like going to your own family's cottage. A real home from home. Loads of games and dvd's and VHS tapes. Table football in the loft and loads more childrens games. Internet was a bit flaky at times but that isn't a problem if you want to detox. Absolutely no phone signal but there is a landline and honesty box. Plus I had some lovely random locals calling thinking they were calling someone else. Lots of walking and paths to be done just from the cottage and the dog loved it. As you are deeeeeeep in the valley you need to be able to manage steep paths in places. Also the Wysis Way goes behind the cottage and you can take a 20 minute walk up to the main road (steep in places) and the farm shop for a few fresh veg and cheeses. People leave behind various herbs and spices, flour etc so you dont have to do what I did and empty your spice rack from home because it is probably on the shelves. Also there is rosemary, thyme, sage, chives and marjoram growing just outside the house. My only problem was the road is very narrow and the hairpin bend was a bit scary for me. ..... I wouldn't like to go down it in the dark. And I wouldn't want to sleep in the loft as there was tons of mouse droppings but being up there during the day would be fine for me.
