There are two steps leading up to the glass double doors which lead you out to a beautifully presented courtyard. Strings of lights illuminate this area in an evening, making this a delightful space. Back inside on the ground floor there is also the well-equipped kitchen, which has everything required to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Heading upstairs there is a toilet on the landing, then on the first floor you have an incredible master bedroom. This generously sized room boasts wall to wall wardrobes, a kingsize bed and a modern spacious en-suite shower room complete with a dressing table. Further up on the second floor there is a bathroom with a shower over the bath as well as a twin bedroom and a double bedroom which has its own en-suite office, ideal for anyone who needs to catch up on work whilst away on holiday. On the third and final floor there is a twin bedroom under the eaves with Velux windows. There is also a shower room plus a games room. The games room is sure to delight younger family members as it boasts a game console as well as toys and games, there are two sofa beds in here, a double and a single which can be used by young children and bedding can be provided on request.
There are restaurants, bars, pubs and shops within a short stroll, and the beach is less than a 15-minute walk. Once on the seafront there are over three miles of flat promenade to walk along, crossing from South Bay to North Bay, separated by the castle on the hilltop. At the far end of the North Bay there is the Sealife Centre as well as Peasholm Park with wooded walks, tumbling stream and lake where boats and pedalos can be hired, both great visits for all the family. The gently shelving, wide sandy beaches at Scarborough have won several awards for cleanliness. The resorts of Filey, Flamborough Head and Bridlington are further south, whilst to the north, Robin Hood’s Bay, Whitby, Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes are all very popular for day trips. The RSPB bird sanctuary is just along the coast at Bempton Cliffs where thousands of puffins, guillemots, and gannets perch along the rocks. There are viewing points from which to spot all the different breeds of seabirds that arrive every year, as well as the seals that sunbathe on the rocks below. Within an hour you can be in the medieval, walled city of York with its majestic minster standing proudly in the centre of the city. The narrow-cobbled streets, city walls, individual shops and fantastic museums make it an enjoyable day for all age groups. Take a trip on an open top tourist bus or river boat and learn about the history of the famous city. York can also be reached by train direct from Scarborough, so why not leave the car at home? All in all, this town house is a great base to visit the east coast of Yorkshire, and a great size for the whole family.
