It offers a tranquil circular walk taking in the stunning views and returning through a picturesque wood where wildlife is abundant. Skydiving Northwest is in Flookburgh, 2½ miles away, and Grange-over-Sands offers golfing. Cycle trails such as the Cartmel Cycle Loop are popular. Train links provide services to Kents Bank, Grange-over-Sands, Arnside, Silverdale (for RSPB Leighton Moss), Ulverston, for its market town with cobbled streets and appealing shops, and Lancaster, for its busy, student vibe. There is a village shop ¼ mile away and Grange-over-Sands has a wide range of amenities, along with the promenade and ornamental gardens. Whether you enjoy biking, hiking, water sports or shopping, or simply taking in the magnificent scenery of mountains and lakes, Dunmail House is an ideal location to achieve all of this. We rented this house primarily to go to a wedding in Cartmel, so the location was very convenient. This house is very spacious and there are wonderful views of the countryside and sea from the bedroom windows. There is also a good size garden, which would be great to enjoy in the summer.

Great cottage for our long weekend stay. Very helpful and welcoming host though we never needed to actually meet. Parking OK though care needed over narrow access. Very clean, good beds and bathrooms though steps down and up to upstairs bathroom - might be tricky at night for some. Garden looked lovely though weather precluded much use. All in all a very enjoyable stay which we'd love to repeat.

Lovely cottage, with lovely views. Clean and comfortable. Ideal for families with children over 5yrs as the garden has a few steps and road was busy in the day time. Overall would recommend. Owners very pleasant ?

We had a fantastic stay at Dunmail House, the hosts are very approachable and will do anything to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Upon entering the property we were amazed at the same as sometimes you can see photographs online which is not a true representation of a property, we were pleased to see that the photographs were accurate and if anything doesn’t demonstrate how amazing this place is! The whole family loved it, especially the boys playing in the garden. A massive thank you to Sarah and her partner who returned my littlest nephews toy dog which he carried everywhere and we had left it by accident at the property. Will definitely return and would definitely recommend this place! Thank you for such a pleasant stay. Jenn and family

A warm and welcoming house, with comfortable beds, and everything you could need for a great time away. Interesting wallpaper that provokes memories and discussions in the dining room. Plenty of interesting places within 20 minutes drive, and the ever changing Morecambe Bay almost on the doorstep. The pub across the road has great food and staff and although in the middle of the village the house is somehow peacefully located. As a very late booking after a family bereavement I must say it is one of my best finds in 30 years of self catering holidays in the UK.
