As soon as we got in there was lights and music along with some fizz to drink. Most welcoming!
The little extras were beyond what we expected, the accomadation was beautiful and relaxing. The lack of WiFi was a bonus and limited our connections making it a truly restful retreat.
We are planning to return
An amazing stay. Very secluded area which was perfect. Would 100% book again. Would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful, romantic get away

Lovely place owners live opposite but we never even bumped into them. Replied to a question within minutes so they would be available if you wanted something. Place was really private and quiet.
me and my partner had an amazing stay at the easthorpe retreat! we had everything we needed. maxine was very helpful and couldn’t have done more for us. we enjoyed our 3 cosy nights at the lodge and sipping prosecco in the hot tub whilst the sun went down. perfect location too as we visited the zoo and took a trip into town. would definitely recommend and we will be sure to return.
Overall we had a really great time staying here as it was really private but something to consider would be to have a wifi box situated in the cabin to improve signal and a TV in front of the bed. But as I said overall we truly did have a magnificent time and the hosts was so polite and considerate.
Absolutely loved it, everything was perfect. The little touches put in by the owners made it really special.
Very comfortable, clean and relaxing.
Very private but owners just a text away if needed.
We would definitely recommend the retreat and hope to return soon.
I wanted to say a huge thank you to Maxine and John for our wonderful stay at Easthorpe Retreat in Colchester. The cottage is really well laid out with great touches like Champagne on arrival, bread, milk and butter in the fridge and cakes in the cake stand. As a romantic couples get away it is ideal, with several 2 seats to sit side by the side on the premises. The hot tub is great and we spent lots of time in there watching the sun set and the stars come out. We will certainly visit again and I cannot recommend this location highly enough. Excellent venue!
The Retreat was perfect. It was even nicer than it looked in the photos.
The only slight issue if you were to stay for a bit longer is that there is no oven, only a microwave.
We would both love to return.
My partner and I had a fantastic 2 night stay at Easthorpe Retreat and we would recommend it to anyone who wants a luxurious break away. The cabin itself was very cosy and the “little touches” that the owners put in for us made it even nicer. The hot tub was very clean and it was perfect for some relaxation time.
All in all we will definitely be returning in the future.
