Eider Cottage is nestled within the prestigious and friendly hamlet of Waren Mill and only a matter of yards from the sea! This small courtyard of four whinstone built cottages was once traditional fisherman’s cottages and over the years extended and improved to become the homes for the millers of Waren Mill. With the mill no longer in operation these cottages have now been lovingly transformed to provide superb holiday accommodation in a fabulous seaside setting. The ambience throughout Eider Cottage is homely and welcoming with a cosy log burning stove nestled in a charming Inglenook fireplace in the lounge. The accommodation is immaculately presented throughout and the enclosed shared courtyard patio area at the rear is an idyllic spot to dine al fresco.

We were disappointed with the cottage overall, its looks like it needs a lot of TLC. The outside furniture needs looking after especially as we were expecting a really nice area to sit out. The kitchen is well equipped apart from the toaster, why have a 2 sliced toaster in a cottage for 6 people. There are no towels provided which is really a basic in other holiday cottages. The guest information in the cottage is outdated we could not find any update info for the bin collections. We stayed for 3 weeks and even though we were offered a linen change nothing else in the cottage was replaced ie dishcloth toilet roll tea towels bath mats. The worst part was the parking we were aware there was only 1 parking space but the cottage and all the others in the courtyard are 2/3 bedrooms and there is literally nowhere else to park we were constantly juggling cars with our neighbours as they also had more than 1 car visiting. All in all a stressful time.

Lovely cottage contained within a courtyard of 3 others. Cottage was very clean. Equipment in the cottage very adequate. It is about 1.5 miles from Bamburgh so restaurants/pubs etc a taxi drive away. One note. Although the booking says linen included, this is just bed linen. People will need to take their own towels. Buying is not a problem as long as you do not arrive on a Sunday after 4 p.m. Owners very helpful

A very sweet and extremely clean and comfortable cottage located right next to the picturesque Budle Bay. We think it should be made clearer that towels are not provided, which caused a last minute dash to Seahouses to buy some! The owner also kindly dropped some over the next day.

The cottage and location were excellent. We were disappointed that towels were not provided and we were expected to strip down the beds prior to vacating the cottage. We have been on many cottage holidays before and have never had this set up, seems OTT and what is the cleaner left to do?If people want to bring there own towels, I get that, but having some provided would be appreciated. Not tried this set up before and will stick with towels being provided in future. Also, there should be a plaque on the wall indicating which space is alloted for our use, 'ours' was occupied by another vehicle and we did not know who it belonged to and then there is the dilema of where to park as guests are asked to avoid parking on the road.Only two of the 4 cottages in the block have name plaques visible in the car park, perhaps this could be sorted.

I have only given Local Amenities 5/10 because I don't fully understand what this category is referring to. There were no local shops etc but the beaches and walks were excellent.

A lovely cottage, you could hear geese in the evening flying to the corn field at the back of the cottage. A nice courtyard which our three year old played safley in. The games for children could be refreshed a bit as some of the bits are missing. Also some of the cutlery was not washed up too well.
