Loved the cottage or rather house which was spacious and very well equipped. It was a pity the local pub was closed for meals for three of our four nights but at least we had great cooking facilities and a dishwasher so didn't really suffer as a consequence. We were very pleased to have the super play park adjoining the garden and the Riverside walk only a few yards away. The "shop" seemed to be the tearoom which was reported to stock a few essentials so make sure you pick up all you need in the way of groceries en route. We were welcomed with biscuits and a bottle of white wine spritzer courtesy of our host who also kindly arranged to have the multi-fuel stove lit for our arrival. Thank you also to Diane who showed us how to work it. One warning - if like us you were asked to phone ahead to confirm your arrival time it may not be that easy. We had no mobile signal for miles around on two different networks although we did have email in the house . Luckily a friendly neighbour made the phone call for us and within minutes we were sitting in front of a warming stove. The kids all enjoyed the local area and slept soundly at night so we adults - grandparents, and parent did too.

A fantastic cottage in a brilliant location! The cottage itself was clean, spacious and comfortable, perfect for two families. The garden backing directly on to the park was a particular highlight for the children. It was a perfect base from which to explore all of the activities in the local area. The owner was really friendly and responded to any queries quickly. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Elm Croft to others and would definitely book again if we were visiting the area in the future.
