A fantastic base for a large group to come together. The house encourages you all to sit and relax together and enjoy your surroundings. The garden was second to none with a play park through the back gate where the younger ones can go out and explore on their own but with you looking on from your deck chair! Cannot rate this accommodation highly enough

We - grandparents, parents, 3 children under 8, had a lovely week in Elmcroft. The weather was fairly dismal, but the house was spacious and comfortable and the woodburner kept us cosy in the evenings! Everything we would expect from a rental home was provided - it was very well equipped. The bike storage was excellent and the garden and playground perfect for our children - they didn't care about the rain! Falstone is remote and wet weather entertainment was a significant drive away. We did some cycling and walking from the house, but mostly needed to use the car to find suitable options for the children. Had it been sunny we would have been very happy to relax closer to home and use the garden! Certainly not blaming the owners for the weather. The dishwasher was not working and we were very impressed with the speed with which a replacement was fitted, despite it being a bank holiday weekend - thank you very much, indeed!

This was our second booking at Elm Croft and we will be staying here again soon. I love the village location and walking distance to the dam. This is an ideal base for our sports and perfect distance to the pub.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Ideal location for exploring Kielder. Only downside was we couldn’t find the cot that was mentioned in the blurb on the Northumbrian cottage website luckily we had brought our own travel cot.

Elm croft is a gorgeous well laid out cottage with everything you need. Very cosy and village is very pretty with lovely walks. Only downside for us was how far away it was from shops ect it was a little too secluded but if thats what your looking for then its perfect

We had a great break at Elm Croft. The house was very clean, good size rooms (showers were great!) and pretty well appointed - for 7 people at Christmas could have been useful to have one or two more dishes, etc but we coped! Great layout in the house. Only real complaint were the pillows - a bit lumpy. Otherwise, I would highly recommend the house and the village - the people were so welcoming in the Blackcock Inn and in the church (St Peters) where we took in the Christingle service.

Great weekend break at Elm Croft celebrating a family birthday. House was well equipped and well positioned for local pub, great walks and a trip to Kielder Observatory. We have recommended Elm Croft to friends for future reference.

Set in a lovely quiet village, a warm, well equipped cottage, we didn’t even need to light the wood burner! A one mile walk takes you to the bottom of Kielder reservoir and the dam which you can walk or drive across. Nice meals ar the local cafe and pub, so a good time was had by all six of us.

Elm Croft is a lovely home. It was well equipped, warm and comfortable. The garden is secure for dogs and we enjoyed watching the array of birds visit the bird table. The location of the cottage was fantastic for visiting Kielder forest and observatory. We even got to see red squirrels at Waterside, which was a highlight. Would go back and stay in Elm Croft if visiting the area again.

A fantastic house with a great sized garden, our Pointer was safe and secure (although I did cover the gate over so she couldn't see the bunnies in the evening). Great sized living space, warm and dry with all the regular white goods. Not much in the village but that suits us fine. ¼ mile of tarmac before you're on tracks that take straight to Kielder Dam, heaven!
