A less than 5 minute walk down Peggy Hill brings you to the centre of Ambleside where there are many cafes, restaurants, shops and two cinemas. Wansfell and Red Screes are nearby and walks can be enjoyed from the door. Many bus routes radiate from Ambleside including frequent services to Windermere, Great Langdale, the 555 to Grasmere and Keswick, and the Coniston Rambler to Hawkshead and Coniston.

    3rd stay here - great location, apartment is small & cosy - But could do with a better cleaning regime - lots of cobwebs & dust & cutlery not clean & a Shortage of Glasses for anything other than wine.

    Eskdale is ideally situated only a few minutes walk into the centre of Ambleside in a quiet area. It's a great boon to have a designated parking spot. The cottage is lovely and warm, well equipped, and with a comfortable bed. The only slight downside is the pull up the hill between Ambleside centre and Eskdale, but at least it increases your fitness level!

    Excellent location for both town and country walks. The kitchen was well equipped. The cottage was clean but felt the bathroom needed better ventilation. Although there was a washing machine there didn’t seem to be anywhere to dry things.

    Negatives- Quite a small location but would suit some. Space for storing leisure gear is limited. Bathroom is musty and could benefit from sealant being replaced and more ventilation. Bed was too soft for us. Advertised as having Wi-Fi on booking.com and there was none. Positives parking outside the door. Boiler is excellent for both heating and water. Location is great for going out eating/drinking in Ambleside or for setting off o walks

    Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Eskdale. The only let down was the damp bathroom. Had to put the heating on so we could dry the towels, as nothing would dry in the bathroom it was so damp. Mildew on bathroom tiles.

    Good Location, well equipped kitchen. Rather quaint and old fashioned but style suited property. Would not stay there again as no outside space to sit.
