    Bedroom 1: With twin beds.
    Bedroom 2: With full size bunk beds.
    Shower room: With shower, toilet and heated towel rail.

    Esthwaite takes its name from the freshwater Lake near Hawkshead, famous for its trout fishing, one of a host of Lakeland waters available to holiday makers who enjoy the traditional sport, Esthwaite, the cottage, however, is in Windermere, tucked behind the main thoroughfare only a short stroll to a wide range of amenities in both this village and neighbouring Bowness.
    A modern take on a traditional stone built cottage, Esthwaite is an end terrace, built on three floors and is comfortably furnished in a fairly contemporary style. The two bathrooms with bath or shower are sure to be put to good use after a days walking on the fells. Shop 70 yards, pub and restaurant 20 yards.

    Cottage was clean and tidy on arrival but smelt of dog, there isn’t enough draws etc to put all of your clothes away we were in the double room and we only had a rail with a few hangers and bedside tables, there were only 4 of us if there had been 6 it would have been worse as the other bedrooms hardly had any storage either. It is noisy being behind the Pig. Yes parking was a bit of a pain but this was stated in the description and we always found a space in one of the streets allowed with the permit.

    The cottage was clean and in good condition and suited the needs of my extended family. Being so close to the town centre was excellent. However parking at the cottage was impossible unless you own a very small car, we used the parking permit but spaces were limited in the streets to which it applied and we had to pay to park our second car in the public car park again with limited spaces.The advertised garden is non-existent and has a lovely view of the commercial waste bins for an adjacent business. But none of this spoiled our experience and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly return.

    Loved The Lakes and everything around the area. The Cottage was OK, we liked the layout and the decor, but it was a little smaller than we anticipated. It is obvious that the owner has not "lived" in the cottage for even 24 hours, because there were issues, mainly small things but it's these things that make all the difference. (And in no particular order) ... no parking, we knew this but it is awkward ... kitchen knives were blunt ... no scatter cushions ... the front room needs lamps because the lighting is harsh, the front room dimmer switch does not dim ... kitchen pans were poor quality and small ... still no idea if our rubbish should go out the front or back door (see attached pic) ... we had none of the important red refuse sacks ... no dishwasher tablets ... no shelves to put anything, bathroom or bedroom ... no dustpan & brush ... no make-up friendly mirror ... the ironing board is a death-trap ... BUT the shot glasses were nice and BIG!

    The property is situated extremely close to all local amenities in Windermere and next door to Coral bookmakers, in a very tight area where parking was extremely difficulty. Even with a car parking pass for local streets, you still have to find a space and 90% of the time none existed. On this occasion we were lucky on the square near to the property as one of the residents allowed us to have their space. The property is very frustrating I struggle to see how it accommodates 6 people as it is very cosy with 3 people! The beds were very comfy and the loft bedroom is okay but the bathroom and headroom are very tight and anyone over 6 foot would struggle to walk around. The kitchen and seating was well supported to cook a decent meal and sit for a family meal. The washing machine is extremely small and we struggled to keep on top of the washing as there is very little space to hang the clothes to dry. Coming out of the back door you are greeted with 4 large industrial bins that smell and regularly have seagulls scavenging for scraps. The property is supported with Sky and WIFI. We had an amazing time in the Lake District as with plenty to do. Unfortunately we wouldn’t use the property again as we would stay alittle further north.
