The historic stately homes of Chatsworth House and Estate and medieval Haddon Hall can be reached in around 10 minutes, and the traffic free Monsal Trail, ideal for walking and horse riding, starts in Bakewell and will take you to just outside Buxton. The beautiful Hope Valley, Matlock, with its cable car to the Heights of Abraham, and Ashbourne can all be reached in under half an hour. Shops and restaurants ½ mile, pub 200 yards.
