    We are thrilled to offer this idyllically located, lavishly furnished and generously proportioned property for four people. Situated just outside Ambleside with breathtaking views of Lake Windermere and surrounding mountains and yet within walking distance of the village. The house (all except the Amdega conservatory) dates back to 1840 and is full of character and is one of three properties converted from a previous Country House Hotel, but has been redesigned for the 21st century and much use has been made of Laura Ashley fabrics and furnishings.
    The semi-detached house is of an open plan design consisting of a fully equipped kitchen and spacious lounge, and two delightful en-suite bedrooms with wonderful views across the valley towards Wansfell Pike. Immediately outside the house is a lovely patio complete with garden furniture, and benefiting from stunning views. The garden then slopes away from the house down a meandering lawn with mature borders to the ’secret’ garden which is a beautifully sheltered sun trap.
    The central location of the house to the Lake District makes it easy to access the many and varied attractions the Lake District offers. Footpaths begin right on the doorstep.

    Gorgeous house where we immediately felt at home. The view from the conservatory/dining room is breathtaking. All facilities an amenities even Netflix which made our kids happy. Walk from the village can be a challenge after a long day hiking or after an evening in the pub but is possible. Hope to return next year.

    This is a super cottage..kitted out to a really high standard...loved the privacy of the two ensuites aswell as the sumptuous beds, the high quality linen, soft towels,Denby ware, flag floors, the fact that the heating was on when we arrived, the fact that you could cast your favourite music on to the T.V and of course the fabulous conservatory and views. The only thing I would say is that if you book and think it is an easy stroll down to and up from town you would be mistaken...It is a very steep and long climb..not want you need after a day on the fells....that said we would definitely recommend..we hope to return .
