The cottage is located on a quiet back road open views across the valley and down to loch pooltiel. Enclosed garden dog friendly but dogs do need to be on a lead when out and about as sheep are everywhere. The cottage is spacious , comfy and clean, everything you need in the kitchen. Good base for sightseeing. Local shop and cafe less than 1 mile in Glendale and bakery and choice of places to eat in Dunvegan. Would definitely stay there again.

Would not recommend it if you are not a pet lover

The cottage was warm and cosy down an unmade track in a very rural location which suited us; the local shop has enough to get you by and the Oldest bakery on Skye in Dunvegan was excellent - delicious bread and cakes. The roads take some getting used to and I strongly recommend guests to read the 'Rules of the road' as printed in the visitor guide - not all the locals are patient with tourists! Skye is basically 'Sheep Country' and as such is not very dog friendly if you like to let your dog off the lead - safe places are few and far between but the garden at the cottage, laid to grass is well fenced however we did have to wedge the gate shut in the strong winds. There is so much to see and do - the cottage is nice to come back to for a hot bath, beds were comfortable too. We enjoyed our 2 week stay however the only unpleasantness was a run-in with the local farmer who took an instant dislike to our dog - I let him off lead on the local beach (as I had seen others do, totally enclosed and NO livestock!) not sure what we did wrong but do understand he must be fed up with some irresponsible dog owners - it just underlined the 'feeling' that the locals were fed up with visitors to the island however the local traders were very pleased to see us - nice pub at sligachan which is dog friendly, Coral beach, The Quirang, The old man of Storr, Waternish peninsular, Dunvagan Castle are a must and Brittle bay is nice to walk the dog off lead on the fenced beach. We didn't get to see it all, some 'hot spots' are very busy with tourists and it can be difficult to park sometimes but its worth the effort, amazing scenery and night skies - we saw so many rainbows, the Cullin hills are a photographers dream with stunning skies. We are glad we ticked it off our bucket list at last.

The views from the cottage are stunning. Be aware from the cottage it is a single track road then a 20 minute drive with passing places, that can get busy, until you reach the the main roads. It is on the way to Neist Point - worth a visit. The cottage is really in need of some TLC. The sofas are not very firm with wear and tear showing. It would have been useful to have some smaller serving dishes, although there was plenty of cutlery. There was no information to tell you where local amenities were e.g. vets, doctors, local shop etc. If a few bits of maintenance were carried out e.g. cold tap in en-suite, leaking tap in kitchen, leaking hot water cistern (pan underneath) and main windows that had blown were replaced then it would be a really great place. We did our enjoy our stay and the cottage is warm and cosy when the heating is on or multi fuel stove is going plus it is dog friendly.

Roomy, well-equipped cottage in an outstanding location with lovely views from big windows in the lounge. Very dog-friendly. Suggestions: The visitor book and house book could do with some attention. The central heating timing seemed very strange - it did not come on until well after we had got up and went off very early evening. But it was very effective and the house was warm. Porch is quite small so could be used more effectively for storage of coats and boots etc.

Fab cottage very well quipped. One local shop with excellent range of everyday essentials. Super log burner for the darker colder nights.

We had a lovely holiday at this cottage (we were there last year) The cottage is well equipped for our needs although this time we found the rugs and suite looking tired and generally in need of a good clean. The overall cleanliness of the cottage is good. The cottage is lovely and warm, stove is there if you wish to use it. Location is good, and we found the most wonderful old bakery in Dunvegan. Cottage views are outstanding and going to neist point to see the sunset is a must. Really nice relaxing holiday.
