Fidra Cottage is a well-equipped, beautifully decorated single storey, one bedroom piece of heaven. The whole of the cottage is immaculate, we stayed there for one week and were very sad to leave. It is set almost adjacent to the sea, you can walk there in less than a minute, but you cannot access the beach there. There is no garden, but as this cottage is really only for one or two it wasn't missed. Anstruther itself is a small town, but it does have great dining opportunity, and the fish and chips at the Antstruther Fish & chip shop have been tasted by no less a person than HRH Prince Charles, recommended by his eldest son (I assume) St. Andrew's is about 12 miles away, but there are a myriad of golf clubs to be found from Anstruther to St Andrews. There are several farm shops, a cheese making establishment, etc all within an easy drive. All in all, it is a great base to explore the Kingdom of Fife, we will be back to continue our exploration next year.

This was a beautiful little house. Perfect for two people. Such care had gone into equipping it from great kitchen equipment to umbrellas, walking sticks and binoculars! we had everything we needed for a perfect holiday. We will certainly return. We have been booking cottages on the Fife coast for 10 years and this has to be one of the very best.

We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend the cottage to any couple who wanted a peaceful holiday with amenities nearby. We took our dog on holiday with us for the first time and found the town and most shops pubs egg very dog friendly. My husband had been quite ill a few weeks before we came and he was able to go at his own pace over the week.

I was delighted with the cottage. However couldn’t put table and chair out to sit out as every day there was 4 children on their bikes that used that area as a ride way. Which was quite upsetting as I live in a second story flat and would have been nice to sit our

Everything was exactly as we hoped it would be -- except that it was a bit too warm. The heating was very considerately provided, we just would have liked a way to turn it down a bit. Everything else was perfect!

This is a delightful cottage , ideal for two. Every home comfort is provided and the cottage is delightfully furnished with lots of lovely personal touches. I felt this was a cottage loved by its owners rather than just a holiday let. We visited in November and so appreciated the efficiency of the heating. Constant hot water, lovely bedding and towels and all the kitchen equipment that could be needed meant we were very comfortable in a home from home environment. It’s an easy walk to town where we found plenty of eating places including the famous fish and chip shop. We loved the Dreel tavern with its open fire. We used the bus to get along the coast in both directions, which stops on the main road near the cottage. As keen golfers we appreciated being able to walk to the golf course which we would reccomend. A challenging 9 holes with views of the sea from every hole.
