A lovely barn conversion to a high spec - Mousey Thompson stools, leather settees wood burner etc. Unfortunately it is right beside the A6 main trunk road to Matlock - noisy does not cover it! unfortunately the amount of heavy traffic and motorbikes means that sitting outside limits conversation to short broken sentences. Be aware too that there are no blinds or curtains so take eye masks and ear plugs to get any sleep We chose Fisherman's Lodge because it assured us of 'peace and tranquillity' whilst staying there - unfortunately Fisherman's Lodge did not deliver on that.

Will definitely be coming back soon

Excellent little cottage, away from it all. Well equipped and well decorated and comfortable. Close yet far enough away from everything which is what we wanted, though some may find the lack of local amenities a hinderance we had no issue with this, failing to prepare is preparing to fail after all. Take note that the A6 running by the cottage does get busy, road noise can be a little disturbing, or perhaps we were a little unlucky with a horde of bikers over the Easter weekend. Also a little advice if you fancy a lay in take eye masks for sleeping, the velux windows which are nice for a view of the night sky also allow unimpeded morning sun.

Great time in a fantastic cottage! Really enjoyed the stay and everything was to a high standard.
