This cottage was just what we wanted, apart from the fact that there was only one bedroom out of two which was cleaned and the bed made up. It was advertised as a two bedroom cottage and that was why we booked it. There was no spare bedding to use and no contact number for a cleaner or someone who could bring the bedding. I used the throws that I had brought to protect furniture in case my dog jumped up. There was a blocked grid outside the back door, so after rain we had to wade through 3 inches of water to get into the garden. We were unable to lock the front door at night, because the key would not turn on the inside.

We appreciated the thought that had been put into the tasteful refurbishment and kitting out of the cottage. It was very clean, comfortable and close to both local amenities and the harbour and the beach. The owner and local agents had made every effort to ensure that holiday maker like ourelvess would have an enjoyable stay, Footnote (Not for publication) is that we live on a farm and our dog has been trained to bark when strangers appear. As the cottage is right on the street with quite a busy local pedestrian traffic passing the living room and main bedroom we were concerned that his barking would disturb the neighbours. That is not the fault of the owner of course but it would prevent us from booking the cottage again. That shouldn't be a concern for other couples however.

The cottage was perfect for our needs as there was just the two of us and the dog. It was warm and welcoming. The kitchen was well equipped. The bed was extremely comfortable. Would certainly recommend Fishers Cottage to friends and family.

We had a very pleasant and relaxing week at Fisher's Cottage in Balintore. The house is a short walk from a beautiful beach and a well stocked and friendly Spar. The Balintore Inn serves excellent food, we ate there on the Saturday we arrived and it was close enough to walk to. The cottage is very well equipped just like a home from home and everything was very clean and tidy. The beds were most comfortable and we enjoyed the electric blanket on the king bed with the superior bed linen and soft towels. There was a welcome pack of bread, butter and milk waiting for us on arrival and the cottage was warm. We draped washing over the airer to thoroughly dry beside the electric heaters after being hung outside in the fresh air. The shower is electric and the water is hot, what more could you ask for. Oh, and there is super fast Wifi, Sky tv or Netflix would have been a bonus. Loved the area with lots of beach and forest walks in the region and our two curly dogs loved it also.

Excellent, clean and comfortable cottage, ideal as a base to explore the surrounding countryside. Only thing required is a tumble-dryer so you can get wet clothes dried quickly.
