Really well equipped holiday, with effective open fire (essential this chilly June) comfy beds and chairs, but a teeny tiny bath. Beautiful location and only 200m from the Fox and Hounds pub which is now open 7 nights for food with a really God’s offering. Great walks from the door, and the dog came too.

Wonderful cottage. Amazing for exploring the dales right on the doorstep with so many different walks. Good area in the cottage for dogs containing too. Pillows could do with replacing or bring your own - only criticism. Welcoming local pub was all that was needed in terms of amenities.

Everything spot on , just one negative, when the temperature outside hit zero the storage heaters were inadequate to keep the house warm / comfortable... though the open fire was a treat in the living room

Foss Gill is a beautiful cottage inside and out. The location was stunning and really made our Christmas magical. We loved that we had so many beautiful views and walks straight from the front door, our dogs loved every minute. We just had a few minor issues, one being that we had to ring up on Christmas Eve to ask if we were to get any clean bedding for the second week of our holiday and was made to feel like we were an inconvenience. We were bought over clean bedding but told we had to house the dirty sheets until we left. Second the cleanliness and all the general clutter that the cottage seems to have accumulated is overwhelming. It’s nice to have a few bits to make it feel homely but to have a dvd on show written on it “uncle Steve’s funeral” we found a little inappropriate when we had our young children with us. The cottage could really do with a deep clean and some decluttering which would make it the wonderful place it should be in such a great setting.

Bathroom was a squeeze ... otherwise comfortable... it as a long drive for us - having a pint of milk in the fridge would have been a nice gesture . Kind to have left tea bags and biscuits but we had to go back out to buy milk !
