Welcome pack.\n\n Balcony with chairs. Private parking for 1 car additional on road parking. No smoking.\n\nFrank’s View is a first floor apartment set within the majestic former Zetland Hotel. This Victorian building remains the most prominent feature of Saltburn-by-the-Sea taking its name from the Earl of Zetland who sold the land on which to develop the town. He also performed the formal opening of the hotel on 27 July 1863.\nFrank’s View has some of the best views along the whole Yorkshire coastline looking across the bay of Saltburn to Huntcliff and out to sea. You get a feeling of grandeur and olden day luxury as you make your way up the grand old staircase to the apartment. A balcony wraps around the exterior making a perfect spot to sit and relax with a drink and watch the waves roll in and out again. There are two comfortably sized bedrooms and spacious living areas all with fantastic views. There is also the benefit of a private parking space.\nSaltburn is an up and coming seaside town with many restaurants and cafés and there is always something new happening in the town. The town attracts surfers and fishermen as well as those wanting to spend time building sandcastles. There are also plenty of places to eat and drink along the promenade and at the top of the cliff and you can travel in style to both the promenade and the pier by using the oldest operating water-balance cliff lift in the country\nThe Ship Inn along the beach is still famous for its link to pirates and smugglers and you can get a feel for this as you walk the beach and admire the cliffs that surround the bay. The Cleveland Way snakes through the coastal area of the town and stretches all along the cliff tops and down into various bays and coves along the Heritage Coast. \nThe town is right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park so is ideally situated for those who want to walk or cycle on the moors and sample some of the prettiest countryside in the county with its hundreds of pubs and restaurants serving home cooked food and a warm welcome. Take a nostalgic ride on the steam train that chugs its way from Whitby deep into the heart of the North York Moors ’Heartbeat’ country and Pickering. Alternatively explore the many bays and coves along the coast such as Robin Hood’s Bay Runswick Bay or Staithes. Each has its own historical story of pirates and smuggling.\n\nThe harbour town of Whitby is just 20 miles away and is an experience of its own. Home of Whitby Abbey which was made famous by Bram Stoker’s ’Dracula’ cobbled back streets quirky shops and Whitby harbour. Keep an eye out for the many festivals and events held here each year from regattas to a Goth festival or take a sea fishing trip on one of the many tourist boats.\n\nYork is just over an hour’s drive away where you’ll find the National Railway Museum and the Jorvik Viking Centre or just enjoy a lovely day out exploring the walls and cobbled streets. There is also a variety of theme parks in the area such as Lightwater Valley Beamish Museum and Flamingo Land to keep the young and the young at heart entertained. Beach 250 yards. Shop 300 yards pub 50 yards and restaurant 150 yards. " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/140/840/1405198.jpg UK2358

A lovely apartment with wonderful views. The downside is the noise from the road unfortunately.

The view from the apartment is amazing. The apartment needs updating but is clean and comfortable. The main issue is that the fridge is far too small to be useful.

Great... fantastic week at Franks View. Was a bit worried after some reviews on here so here is mine. The fridge is a fridge freezer plenty of room for gin and medication. Settees are new and the place is warm and homely. The double bed was harder than I have at home but did my bad back alot of good so I must get one. Accessibility I use two sticks to walk and yes there are a few stairs but that’s obvious from the write up and pics. Views are better than you can explain in a write up local places to eat are the highest quality and it’s a great base. We often rent apartments and have no complaints. Unusual for us lol however some reviews seem overly critical in here and had us concerned.

Excellent location and a beautiful, warm, comfortable and light flat with loads of space. Really had the wow factor and at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

Great view but sad that this lovely apartment is in need of updating. Bathroom and kitchen needs replacing with new and upmarket fittings. The beds also. The mattress although we had no issue sleeping should be much better. The place needs a makeover. It was OK but could be great.

the view from the balcony is excellent

just one drawback, heavy traffic noise from front road when sitting on balcony

Lovely spacious apartment. Well kept and equipped. Wonderful location and views. Unfortunately we were not told that the balcony railings outside the flat were going to be painted that week. Last 2 days spoilt because we could not use the balcony and had no privacy. Also the decorator refused to turn off his radio which was playing loud thumping disco music!

Our second stay at Frank's View. We love the view of the sea and cliffs. There are excellent good value places to eat within a few minutes walk. We enjoyed cliff top walks. Saltburn is a relaxing place to stay : we're thinking of buying a holiday home of our own there !
