Freeland Cottage is a great base from which to explore the township of Dunoon, only a few minutes’ drive away and offering a selection of coffee shops, craft shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants. There are also walking trails at the back of the town just 5 minutes away. Local attractions to visit include the Argyll Forest Park, historic Kilmun and Benmore Botanic Gardens. The Cowal Peninsula is packed with places to see and things to do, and the area is perfect for lovers of the great outdoors with walking, cycling, sailing, fishing, golfing, windsurfing and more. Further afield are Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, Argyll’s secret coast and historic Inveraray; it’s also an easy day trip to Oban, one of the seafood capitals of Scotland.
