The larger town of Newton Stewart, known as the Gateway to the Galloway Hills, also has many excellent shops and places to eat. Further along the coast visit the many pretty little ports like Sandhead and Portpatrick, or visit Scotland’s most southerly point, the RSPB Scotland Mull of Galloway Nature Reserve, where thousands of seabird’s nests in the cliff face during the spring and summer.
