No smoking.\n\n Glasfor meaning The Blue Sea in Welsh stands in the quaint coastal hamlet of Llansantffraed a mixture of old white-washed cottages and seaside homes looked over by the ancient parish church just less than ½ mile down the lane from the village of Llanon. The owners who live across the lane have lovingly created a charming holiday cottage for you to enjoy. Glasfor is a detached single-storey cottage with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The modern country-style breakfast kitchen has plenty of room and the separate spacious dual-aspect beamed livingdining room has patio doors leading out into the enclosed cottage garden ideal for children or pets to play. There’s a cosy wood burner for you to cuddle up in front of making the cottage ideal for winter breaks too The separate snug gives you the space to sit back and relax whilst listening to music or reading a book.\n\nA short stroll will bring you to the coast where you will have plenty of choice as there are beaches all along Cardigan Bay and many which allow pets all year round too. The village of Llanon has a pub fish and chip shop convenience store and butcher so you will be able to get all your day to day needs. Just 11 miles north will bring you to the Victorian and university seaside town of Aberystwyth where you will find a promenade and pier. Take a trip on the longest electric cliff railway in the UK to the top of Constitution Hill and take in the most amazing views over coffee and cake. Or why not catch a steam train on the Vale of Rheidol Railway to Devil’s Bridge and waterfall travelling through verdant countryside along the way? Travel 5 miles south of Llanon where you can visit the colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron. There’s a good selection of independent shops cafés pubs and restaurants and lots of events featured throughout the year. A little further along will bring you to New Quay where the houses cling to the rocks above the bay and dolphins can often be seen. Ceredigion is full of inspiration for a holiday whether you want to take in the wilderness of the Cambrian Mountains or enjoy the sparkling beaches and pretty coves or even walk along the 60 miles of coastal pathway. Beach 100 yards. Shop 500 yards pub and restaurant ½ mile. " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/106/840/10615401.jpg UK6695

Only 1 pub in village, but very pleasant and friendly locals. Dogs allowed in bar area. Didn't eat there because we had dog but food looked good and take-aways available. One chippy in village was also good but took a while to get served. General store near chippy and butchers down the road make self catering no problem. Cottage was lovely and very comfortable. Enclosed garden very handy for the dog. Right on coast but beach is very pebbly. All in all great for chilling out and walking. Very nice short break.

Very comfortable and cosy cottage. Well equipped and spacious. We had a lovely 5-day break here with our dog. The village is very close and there's a useful shop and pub. We loved going to New Quay with its super sandy beaches. The beach in Llanon is mainly pebbles and accessed by a flight of steps. Very close to the coastal path which we attempted but was extremely muddy when we were there. The owners were very friendly and we would certainly recommend this cottage.

Everything we wanted or needed was provided which included a welcome pack of Welsh cakes, tea, coffee and even dog treats for our woofer. There were logs for the fire and when we were running low the owner gave us more which was a very nice gesture. Parking was a little on the tight side but was no problem for me, some of the locals seemed to ignore the 20 MPH signs and we had a couple of close calls when out walking but apart from that everyone appeared friendly. Short walk to the local chippy and shop both of which I can recommend, only minutes to the sea and the lovely church and short drives to Aberaeron and New Quay, one place in particular which was outstanding was The Moody Cow https://www.bargoedfarm.co.uk/, we went and had breakfast there and the sausages and bacon were the best I had ever had needless to say we purchased some from their shop to take home. I can thoroughly recommend Glasfor and Chris and Christine were the perfect hosts, we will definitely want to return.

Beautiful cottage with lots of home comforts. It was a lovely place to stay and very accommodating for our dog Scruff. Amazingly comfortable and great location!

Very nice cottage, good position though a little difficult to access, but overall would recommend for both walkers or those seeking a more relaxing holiday. On main road the buses go to Aberystwyth one way for Aberareon , New Quay and Cardigan the other way, also it is dog friendly with secluded enclosed rear garden for you or your pet to enjoy.

A wonderful holiday in a lovely well equipped cottage. The local pub the White swan make you feel very welcome. We are already looking to book for next year

Had a wonderful 5 night holiday at glasfor.by far the best cottage we've stayed in with welcome holidays. Lovely cottage in a great location and the people are so friendly

We had a lovely time. The cottage has a lot of living space for 4, particularly having more than one bathroom. The kitchen and bathrooms were spotless and modern. The location was ideal - being halfway between Aberystwyth (historic stuff, shopping) and New Quay (dog friendly beaches, ice cream, souvenir shops), and right along the coastal path as well! The whole are was very accommodating to dogs, and it was so nice to walk on the cliff top every day. The enclosed garden was lovely, for the dog and also not really overlooked. Only a couple of slight things - missed having a dishwasher, but it was OK as we got the kids to help with washing up. Also, one of the mattresses in the twin room was quite hard, so we had arguments about who got to sleep in which bed, and had to swap half way through the holiday.

The cottage is a credit to its owners. Comfortable, well equipped , people & dog friendly. Chris & Christine are very amiable & helpful. Well kept paths around the village and down to the sea. All the locals we met were friendly. Only slight issue is access to the drive way - adequate, but a challenge if you have a large vehicle.

We had a lovely week in this fantastic cottage. Perfect for us, two teenagers and our dog, and for lovely walks along the beach. The local pub is great, and the area is excellent with lots of lovely villages to visit and beaches along the coast. People very friendly and would definitely recommend. The cottage seems larger on the inside than it looks outside, and has all mods cons and everything you could want. The owners live opposite and are helpful and lovely.

Glasfor is very well appointed, comfortably furnished and ideally located for our dog walking holiday. The garden is completely secure, the owners are extremely helpful and the house is very dog friendly. I would recommend this cottage and would certainly visit again.
