A peaceful and secluded glen at the head of Loch Eck, ’one of the jewels of the Forest Park’ and a part of the Lomond and Trossachs National Park. This charming cottage is ideal for couples who love the outdoors, the perfect place to unwind, relax and explore this beautiful part of the Cowal Peninsula. Let the sounds of the river lull you to sleep. Featuring an open plan living/dining/kitchen, open fire with a comfortable sofa and armchair. The forest and surrounding lochs are renowned for walking and cycling. The cottage is close to the scenic Allt Robuic gorge and waterfalls, and sits directly on the Cowal Way, a popular 57-mile trail between Inverglas and Portavadie. Glenbranter also offers an excellent base for more challenging hill walking with a number of easily accessible peaks, rising steeply above Loch Eck and affording stunning views over the Cowal peninsula, the Clyde sea lochs and beyond. Three miles away is Strachur village, with its two general stores, the famous Inn offering delicious food and a cosy bar, and local tearoom’s delightful breakfasts, takeaway rolls, and meals throughout the day.
