Set on the edge of the Grampian Mountains and with easy access to Royal Deeside the property is situated on a working farm and enjoys superb views across unspoilt countryside. The main accommodation is on the first floor accessed via a staircase with stair gate in place for younger occupants. The open - plan living area is a real delight. Beautifully colour coordinated furniture and soft furnishings add a real touch of luxury and the bright modern kitchen will please all visitors. There are two good sized bedrooms on the first floor both beautifully presented in the style of an upmarket boutique hotel. The third bedroom on the ground floor is equally delightful. There is a large modern family sized bathroom on the first floor. The apartment is cosy at all times of year thanks to the eco-friendly biomass heating system. \n\nWith wonderful walks direct from the property this is a perfect base for walkers cyclists and anyone wishing to explore this lovely unspoilt area. In springtime in particular there is a beautiful display of alpines and rhododendrons. In summer and autumn guests are invited to pick surplus produce for their own use. Visitors are also welcome explore the farm itself and meet the animals - there is a large grassed area at the back of the house which is ideal for children to run and play. Wonderful apartment which was clean and fresh set in beautiful surroundings and gardens. Helpful hosts and plenty to do in the area even when lots of museums were still closed.

very comfortable warm and well equipped accommodation Access road is okay when wet or dry but not sure if we could have reached it in wintry weather as have to cross a ford and climb 1 in 12 hill to reach it. Owners were helpful and even erected a Christmas tree for us which was lobely

Overall a good holiday.Rain and fog somewhat spoiled middle period. Particularly if you wished to travel out for evening meal as the local eating out choice wasd not the best.

After we'd booked Glensaugh for a fortnight, I had wondered whether we'd find enough around the area to keep us going for two weeks. But this was no problem at all! Being located right on the border between the hills and the coastal lowlands gives the choice of heading up the glens or up Deeside one day and to the coast or to one of the towns or cities (e.g. Stonehaven, Aberdeen, Dundee, St Andrews) the next. True you do need to be prepared to drive quite a way but this is hardly unusual for Scotland. Even the most popular parts of the area were relatively quiet and in others you barely saw a soul - even in the middle of summer. And we barely came across any of the dreaded Scottish midges! The apartment itself is of a good size, well presented and clean with great and ever-changing views out of the windows. The surrounding gardens are lovely and we particularly enjoyed picking raspberries there. Sue and Donald were helpful and friendly but not at all intrusive. Details for this property on some websites suggest that it is 4 miles to the nearest shops and pubs. Whilst this is true, there is also a great cafe (The Clatterin' Brig) just down the road and within easy walking distance. Thoroughly recommended!
