    Glensaugh Lodge Apartment occupies a two storey wing of a charming Edwardian farmhouse surrounded by attractive and productive gardens. Set on the edge of the Grampian Mountains and with easy access to Royal Deeside, the property is situated on a working farm and enjoys superb views across unspoilt countryside. The main accommodation is on the first floor, accessed via a staircase (with stair gate in place for younger occupants). The open - plan living area is a real delight. Beautifully colour coordinated furniture and soft furnishings add a real touch of luxury and the bright, modern kitchen will please all visitors. There are two good sized bedrooms on the first floor, both beautifully presented, in the style of an upmarket boutique hotel. The third bedroom on the ground floor is equally delightful. There is a large modern family sized bathroom on the first floor. The apartment is cosy at all times of year, thanks to the eco-friendly biomass heating system.

    With wonderful walks direct from the property, this is a perfect base for walkers, cyclists and anyone wishing to explore this lovely unspoilt area. There are plenty of quiet country lanes and forest tracks as well as more challenging hills and mountain bike trails for the more adventurous. There is a secure shed provided for mountain bikes and other outdoor gear. The property’s garden has an extensive plant collection and productive kitchen garden. In springtime in particular, there is a beautiful display of alpines and rhododendrons. In summer and autumn, guests are invited to pick surplus produce for their own use. Visitors are also welcome explore the farm itself and meet the animals - there is a large grassed area at the back of the house which is ideal for children to run and play. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

    A very comfortable apartment, with a lovely garden, set in really attractive surroundings. Very friendly hosts but not intrusive. Plenty of hot water, well equipped kitchen and TV etc. Washing machine available in hosts' house. Shopping and other amenities not far away. Weather very variable, but that's to be expected in Aberdeenshire in August.

    My wife, family and puppy had a thoroughly great time here and would certainly stay here again. The only small drawback was no washing machine. The owners of the cottage normally allow guests to use theirs but were away for the week we were there.

    Great place, great surroundings and hosts. Lots of great places to visit in the area and great food to be found locally. Arbroath smokies and forfar bridies at are must.

    Beautiful and remote location. Good access to main roads. Very helpful owners (eg they were happy to let us use their washing machine, and pick apples from the garden ) Would stay again

    We had a great week at Glensaugh Lodge. It was a special week for art exhibitions in studios around the area and we found the aircraft museum at Montrose very interesting. The church in Auchenblae was welcoming and a place to meet local people. Our hosts were very kind and friendly and we particularly enjoyed seeing their amazingly productive vegetable, fruit and flower garden. We walked up the hill opposite the house to see the sea view from the top. We would love to come again.
