    Our first visit to the Lake District and what a great choice Granton Lodge was! Very homely and welcoming. The 'small' essentials were such a lovely touch, not to mention the beautiful flowers, homemade cake and bottle of bubbly! A great location to explore all around Lake Windermere and beyond.     Granton Lodge is an excellent base for a holiday in the Lake District. We would highly recommend this property. The secure garden was a fantastic bonus for our two dogs too.

    Really enjoyed our stay in May. The property is beautifully presented and every detail is thought about. Plenty of space for a family holiday and lovely setting it the gardens. A bonus that there are 3 bathrooms for 3 bedrooms! A car is recommended for the area. We tried walking into town but it is at least a 15 min walk and parts of the walk are on the road. It’s further from the action but it means a bit more peace and quiet which is what we were after.

    We stayed in the Easter holidays the house was perfect for our family of four plus dog. Very spacious, the upstairs main bedroom and bathroom area was really nice and separate. Our girls then had a bedroom and bathroom each they were spoilt! The house is very dog friendly with a secure garden and little extras like dog blanket, dog bowl and treats. The cottage is very convenient for Bowness and Windermere and the ferry across the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our home from home and would book again.

    Wonderful cottage with lovely views. The attention to detail in every room is perfect and kitchen is very well equipt. Beds very comfortable. I highly recommend this cottage.

    Wonderful holiday in idyllic location with exceptional scenery. Best time of year to go. The property was perfect; exceptionally clean with top of the range facilities. The property was very comfortable and spacious. Extremely dog friendly with secure garden. Lots of areas locally to walk. Located on A592 but could not tell from property regarding noise. The master bedroom upstairs was spacious with beautiful furnishings and TV and view out to the lake. 15 minute walk to Bowness taking the local road just off the A592 with no traffic and few persons. Booths supermarket is so handy in Windermere. This property is ideal for those who want to not use their car; we used ferry, bus and train during the week and got out and about across the Lake District. The kitchen was so well equipped with all that you would need. Dining room looks good in the photos but is much better as the ceiling is vaulted and in the evening provided a wonderful outlook in the dark clear skies; one evening the full moon lit up the dark sky with beautiful stars and the light shining off Lake Windermere. Would definitely recommend. Storrs Hall hotel is just nearby with fantastic views out on Lake Windermere and lovely walks in the woods and out to the lakeside Temple. Finally there was a wonderful welcome pack from the owners including a delicious cake, bottle of wine, dog treats et al

    The only reason we didn't give higher rating on comfort was in the upstairs bedroom we found the bed (double) too small and prefer king. Although a good size the wardrobe was awkward with low beams. Our only other negatives were we would prefer to not look at the play area of someone else's garden and it is on a busy road. These issues would not be a problem for many people. It is, however, a very attractive property where we enjoyed lovely walks from the door and very close to the beautiful general area. The managers were helpful and informative. I would recommend the property but it didn't suit us.

    A beautiful lodge situated close to the Lake with direct access within minutes to the shoreline. Delightful. Full range of all things necessary for a 'from-home-to-home' experience. Very comfortable. Highly recommended.
