Lovely location and cottage. It is comfortable and warm with quite a modern style interior with wood floors. There is a twin bedroom on the main floor and a double bedroom downstairs from the living area. It is surrounded by a beautiful, natural garden which can be seen from the lovely big windows in the cottage and which can be used by guests. Although the cottage is joined to the owners' house they gave us complete privacy but were on hand to give us friendly help or advice if needed. The parking is off road right outside the cottage. It's a wonderful base for exploring the Matlock area, which we absolutely loved. We wouldn't hesitate to go back to Greenacres Cottage for the lovely relaxed atmosphere and to explore more of the beautiful surrounding area.

The cottage was in an excellent part of Derbyshire for visiting the Dales and the main attractions. It is situated next to the owner's property (although the accommodation was entirely separate) and we were made to feel very welcome. The garden is huge and delightfully planted to encourage wildlife; we loved watching the 3 resident chickens clucking around. The cottage was immaculately clean and well presented; we found everything we'd need during our stay and the kitchen was well equipped. We were amazed to open the fridge and find a beautiful jam and cream Victoria sponge (and can confirm that it tasted as good as it looked)! I would recommend reversing on to the drive, otherwise you'll find yourself reversing up a steep slope on to an at points busy road with limited visibility! The final word has to go to the hosts - I can honestly say that I have never been made to feel as welcome at any other cottage we've stayed at. Thank you, we loved it!
