This cottage was lovely and secluded, garden good for dogs as closed in. As its on a farm there is a smell of silage quite strong at times but having stayed in similar accommodation before we guessed this.

We had a lovely holiday. The cottage was spacious and comfortable. And the enclosed garden was just the ticket for our doggies. The only minus point was the carpark, as it was a bit small for all the cars from 3 holiday cottages.

We left after just two days. The abandoned mop and bucket greeting us on arrival ought to have been a warning. The complimentary biscuits almost broke our teeth. The parking was problematic (too many cars in a confined space); the bedding would have been rejected by a charity shop; the standard of cleaning was abysmal (wipe marks throughout, neglected chrome finishes, dust everywhere, the oven was filthy); the teflon coating of pans was scarred (even after putting crockery, cutlery and utensils through the dishwasher we chose to eat out); the en suite bathroom was too narrow even for our slim figures; although the enclosed garden was attractive it offered no view of the surrounding countryside. The cottage has potential but is tired and unloved. This might suit the owner but has no appeal to holiday-makers wanting to enjoy a well-earned break.

Love this place and we have been many times because of the location. My only criticism would be its self catering so the cottage needs some newer sauce pans, frying pans as what is there is old and not big enough for 6 people. Big casserole dish would be good too. Sofa is not big enough for 6 to sit comfortably in my opinion. Apart from that it’s a fantastic place to stay. Improve on those bits and you will get a 10. Local shop is in Grassington but is expensive so Skipton is then the nearest so shop wisely. Will be booking again

A fab stay in a gorgeous location. The cottage (stables) was fantastic for us and our 2 dogs, they had an enclosed area. Welcome biscuits and milk which was a really lovely touch. The local area was easily accessible by foot, we took a few drives to Skipton and Bolton abbey which were 15/20 mins away. We will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family and will defo rent again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Fantastic cottage and plenty big enough for 6 adults we have stayed hear twice this year and love the place I only have one bad thing to say and that is that the smallest bedroom the bed is extremely hard and the head board bangs on the wall as you turn over which is really annoying so had to stuff a jumper behind it. Otherwise super place!

The stables were perfectly adequate for our needs with all the necessary facilities with the exception of the internet. However we were able to survive for four nights without it !! Situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales with plenty of interesting places to visit within a short drive. Would thoroughly recommend the stables for anyone.

Second visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Few cobwebs and a slight aroma in the shower room which we wondered if it was the septic tank

Ideal for family or 3 couples (3 bathrooms) for either a walking break or places to visit just a short drive away.

Great cottage plenty of room for the dogs to run around in enclosed garden. We enjoyed our time there a good base for exploring the dales.

I spent a long weekend with my three sisters. The cottage was in a good location. Overall it was well appointed, but we felt, having stayed in many other cottages throughout England, the furnishings very tired looking. Was surprised not to get soap in bathrooms (and we all forget to take any just in case). It would have been helpful to have some instructions as to working of microwave. One shower room very smelly. One kitchen drawer came away when it was pulled out.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Grisedale Stables. It was a quite setting. Cottage was well stocked with everything you could wish for. Nice and spacious and cosy. Owner was very accomodating. Would definitely visit again.

We had the best week relaxing together with our family at this beautiful cottage. We can’t wait to come back!

A lovely holiday cottage. We were able to walk into Grassington for cafes and pubs so a great location! Shop and petrol station just down the road which is really convenient. Loads of lovely walks local to cottage. The cottage itself is very comfortable, extremely clean and has everything you need with a lot of space. A great holiday and would highly recommend!!!

This is our second visit to Grisedale Stables, which we undertook because of the area and previous experience at the property. However we were disappointed to discover, upon Saturday arrival, that there were no parking spaces close to the property - entailing transporting luggage etc. This situation improved once the weekend guests in the adjoining properties left on Sunday/Monday. However the problem occurred once again on the Friday before the Saturday we departed. The other two properties brought a total of TEN cars which were double parked in the car park and along the access lane. For this reason we would, regretfully, no longer book this property. It is a bad impression for both arrival and departure when you have to negotiate such poor behaviour.
