This could be an amazing lodge if the grass and garden was maintained, deep cleaning carried out and implements checked on a regular basis.

Enjoyed our stay here very much, the house is huge and the garden even more so. Great views from the balcony and we enjoyed watching the wildlife in the garden. Lots of games and DVDs to watch if a rainy day and plenty of room so you're not on top of each other. Great location as well we went up to Bridlington 10 minutes up the road down to Hornsea 20 minutes away and up to the North Yorkshire Moors an hour away. Would recommend and would definitely stay at Hamilton Lodge again.

Large house, large garden family and dog friendly. Problems we had were sorted quickly. Plumbing leaves a lot to be desired. Toilet flushing downstairs very poor. Could have done with some oven gloves. Local caravan park very handy for the children

The lodge is lovely lots of lovely space for our family children grandchildren and the dog.Garden absolutely perfect children loved it and the dog just a pity grass very long and wasn't cut for the weekend when our grandchildren were there as when cut was perfect, however on arrival after work on the Friday evening there was no toilet roll and no shop in the village which wasn't ideal seeing there was eight in the family and a single bed very uncomfortable, toilets are poor flushes, this did not spoil our holiday as we had a lovely time seen some lovely wildlife from the lodge and lots of great scenery just what we wanted from the holiday.I would certainly visit again lovely lodge Fabulous views from the upstairs veranda ,very lovely house light and pleasant .

Hamilton lodge is a spacious house set in a huge garden overlooking farmland and the coast. We had a fantastic week staying here, it is well equipped and thoughtfully laid out. However we did encounter numerous niggles with the heating, freezer, lighting, tv aerial and the oven, the electrician did eventually come out but it was 3 days (day before we returned home) after we originally contacted the local office. Hopefully it is now all sorted for the next lot of holiday makers. The surrounding area is great for walking, many can be started from the door or the beautiful cliffs of Bempton are only a short drive away. All in all a good week, just let down in my opinion by the house not being thoroughly checked and serviced before letting.

Hamilton Lodge was a beautiful house with an amazing garden and scenery. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves including the dogs who were able to run around the garden without us worrying they would escape. The owners had made a lot of effort with Hamilton Lodge with all the various artworks, games, books etc. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone.

Although this lodge is conveniently located and is well equipped the cleanliness of it is not up to par. My grandson loves playing on the floor and his clothes were dirty within minutes. The rug was full of dog hair. We have dogs but they don't moult so know it was not their hair. My daughter in law found the hoover and mop etc and we cleaned it ourselves. The kettle broke but was replaced the same day so brownie points for that. The only worry with that was that the plug melted in the socket and we were surprised that this did not fuse the electrics. We have stayed at two cottages before that were not in this price bracket but cheaper. They were cleaner, the welcome package ie tea milk etc were better and felt cared for. Hamilton Lodge we thought would be an absolute delight being more expensive. Unfortunately this was not the case, there are maintenance issues which need addressing ie carpets are filthy in bedrooms. No mirror in one of the ground floor bedrooms. Dirt under all the furniture and corners in most rooms. The floors in lounge area are rippling, wonder if they have been wet at some stage. Shame our stay was spoilt by general cleanliness but if they want top rates the owner needs to up their standards.
