    The cottage was tidy when we first got there but was cold, damp and dusty as if it hadn't been used for a while. The kitchen is very dated and lacks a washing machine which serious walkers or young families would need. The cottage was just close enough to the town and some short walks.

    This was a nice place to stay. Comfortable rooms and although close to main road it was quiet. The house is well maintained and has two good-sized lounges. The downsides are no en-suites, only one bathroom/toilet and we did not have WiFi. It’s fair to say the property is a reflection of holiday cottages in the 1990s which is not meant as a negative but it was actually quite nostalgic! It’s a very good central location for the Lakes generally and a handy base close to shops and restaurants.

    No WiFi, but a large and comfortable house in an excellent location with bus stops 2 minutes walk away to all Central Lakes attractions.
