The well-equipped cottages offer stunning views across the expanse of Luce Bay with its white tipped waves and sea birds beautiful in the summer but equally spectacular for wave watching in winter. The area is unspoilt the scenery idyllic and the seascapes around the Rhins as dramatic as they are beautiful. Attractions include fishing golf courses and the RSPB Scotland Mull of Galloway Nature Reserve where thousands of seabirds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer. Harbour porpoises dolphins seals and otters can all be seen in the area. Logan Botanical Gardens are a must during spring and summer with its beautiful displays of rare and native plants as are the gardens at Castle Kennedy and Ardwell House. 5 miles north of Stranraer is Cairnryan home to the Stena Line and PO ferries which make regular trips to Ireland. A local well stocked convenience store caféseafood restaurant and 3 pubs are all within 500 yards.\n" https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/550/840/550911.jpg 27100

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 'Gigha' and would recommend it to anyone who wants peace and quiet, and just to escape the rat race. We were blessed with fantastic weather and so used the garden a lot. The beach is just across the road at the front of the property but the road is very quiet. The views from the front windows across Luce bay are stunning, as is the whole area. A very well stocked village shop is only a few minutes walk away (or a minutes drive). Can't recommend this property enough. It was immaculately kept, the broadband was really good, we had no problems with it. To sit at the window was a real treat, we definitely intend to return we loved 'Gigha' (and so did Alfie, our westie).

A fantastic location and the cottage was very spacious and comfortable one of the best cottages we have hired.

Lovely cottage that is deceptively spacious. Could not ask for better views and local walks, just a great place to relax and chill out. Only negative was the pre-set electric heating that never activated. Also it is a pity that the characterful Ship Inn in Drummore has closed.

Very nice comfort cottage ideal for chilling out and relaxing.

I've only rated 8 on local amenities as it is a remote place.....so unless you are outdoorsy not a lot to do. Which suits me ? Beautiful comfortable cottage in a stunning location

For nearly 50 years we have rented holiday accommodation from Orkney to the Pyrenees and Gigha rates in the top few, so comfortable and calm.

Excellent cottage, very comfortable. Good location looking directly at the sea. Enclosed garden ideal for the dogs and easy access to local walks, either short or strenuous whichever suits. Local shop available for provisions if required and local pub and cafe all to be recommended.

This was our second year at the cottage yet t still retained its wonderful charm. Thoroughly recommend Gigha if you’re looking for peace and quiet. And the scenery is magnificent too.

Nice and cosy cottage in a beautiful location. Welcome pack and starter supply of logs were appreciated. The only downside was the cleaner had used a very strong smelling cleaner in the fridge and microwave which tainted our food. Apart from that loved it. Thank you.

The cottage is lovely, a perfect home from home. Just one or 2 niggles but nothing to take away from the cottage at all. Views are out of this world, the sound of the sea at night is lulling you to sleep. Only niggle was no where open as it is winter but again nothing major.

Well equipped, comfy cottage, in a superb location if you like walking, bird watching or just relaxing.

A beautiful, peaceful and well-equipped cottage with great views at a fantastic price. Lovely area - the only downside is that it is a long way from anything apart from what is actually on the peninsula. But that said, there is certainly more than enough within about 45 minutes to fill a week! We had a fantastic time relaxing and admiring the stunning views and exploring all the nearby beaches with our two dogs.
