There are some lovely pubs one which is positioned right on the riverfront. Numerous cafés and restaurants are available, including La Galleria and the irresistible La Patisserie. Head over the Adur Ferry Bridge to Shoreham Beach; its vegetated shingle is an internationally rare habitat and has been made a local nature reserve. From here a 20-minute walk east along the beach will bring you to the harbour at the head of the peninsula where you can explore Shoreham Fort dating back to 1857. Walking west will bring you to Brighton City Airport with its striking Art Deco terminal building housing a brilliant café to while away hours while watching light aircraft taking off and landing.
