Harvey Cottage is a beautiful traditional property which was built in 1851, situated in the heart of Colyton. There are a number of amenities available to give you the tranquil trip that you deserve. Begin your exploration on the ground floor as you step inside the entrance hall, you will walk into the cosy and inviting living room. The dining room next door is the perfect space for enjoying a home-cooked meal with your fellow guests, with a door opening out into the private courtyard. The walled courtyard has the perfect seating area where you can sip your morning coffee and contemplate how to best spend your day. The well-equipped kitchen has mod cons and leading off is a contemporary shower room. On the first floor are three bright and beautifully presented bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed, the second bedroom has a double bed, and the third bedroom has twin beds. Just a couple of steps up from the landing area is the family bathroom where you can take a relaxing soak after a day spent exploring.
Surrounded by beautiful countryside, the cottage is an ideal base for a walking holiday, with both coastal and countryside to explore, as well as all the amenities of the local town being within strolling distance of the cottage. Colyton is a small historic town about 10 minutes inland from the coast. There is a good selection of local shops, with a tea room and two pubs. There is also a fascinating church, peaceful riverside walks, play areas and the tram service to the coast at Seaton. This lovely part of East Devon is close to the Dorset border with Lyme Regis just seven miles away. There is a wild bird reserve, and you can enjoy a special vantage point of the reserve, the river, and the water meadows by taking the tram ride from Colyton to Seaton. Nearby is the market town of Axminster where you can visit the River Cottage. Honiton has some lovely cafés to enjoy after browsing in the antique shops. The popular coastal villages of Beer and Branscombe are also only a short drive. This wonderful stretch of East Devon coastline has a chain of pretty fishing villages and traditional seaside towns such as Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton. Seaton beach is only 3 miles away; this can be accessed by the tramway which leads from Colyton to Seaton. Two convenience stores are within 400 yards; one of which is a post office.
The Gerrard Arms pub is located 175 yards from the property. The Kingfisher pub is approximately half a mile from the property where there is reasonably priced food including fresh local fish.
