Home to a multitude of independent shops cafés pubs and restaurants Bakewell is rarely quiet and hosts weekly monthly and annual events which include farmer’s markets the annual Bakewell Show Well Dressings and Carnival Week.\n\nThe property is convenient for exploring the local area Buxton Chesterfield Matlock and Matlock Bath can all be reached in around 30 minutes as can the beautiful honeypot village of Castleton. Sheffield Ashbourne Leek and even Alton Towers are around a 45 minute drive and for those wanting to give their car a rest the magnificent Chatsworth Estate can be reached by foot across country. Bakewell’s location on the River Wye provides ample opportunity for waterside strolls and feeding the ducks and the traffic free Monsal Trail which provides level walking and cycling with spectacular scenery for all abilities.     Brilliant place to stay, very comfortable, also having off road parking. The garden is amazing, it was great to sit on the patio and enjoy the sunshine. Excellent location, very quiet and peaceful. Few minutes walk into centre of Bakewell and Monsal trail.

    It was better then the photos suggested We knew the location it’s a lovely walk into the town. Garden perfect for our dog and beautiful views from the bedroom

    Perfect house, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The beds are big and comfortable. The house is in a quiet residential area just a 10 minute walk into Bakewell. There is off road and road parking. Close to the Monsal trail and other footpaths. Lovely garden. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Absolutely beautiful house with beautiful furnishings, lovely garden which is fully enclosed if you have dogs, some reviews say about 10 minute walk to centre but I'd say more 20 minutes if talking steady stroll which is along a busy road if you don't walk along the river which at the time of our visit was flooded from the week before but all in all an excellent stay 
