Cottage location is amazing, the farm is tucked away, very quiet, with animals roaming free in the grounds (sheep, friendly dogs, pony and foal), which the kids loved. But a couple of minutes away in the village is a local shop, a pub serving decent meals and a station for the Welsh Highland Steam Railway, which we used for a trip to Caernarfon. Very easy to get to as well. Loads local to see - Snowdon, Zip World, Anglesey, Caernarfon, Beaumaris, Dinas Dinlle beach etc. And the adjoining field was a sea of wild orchids.
Cottage itself is very thick stone walled, a bit dark due to tiny cottage windows, but with plenty of living space for the kids to fill, and the playroom was a big hit. If your kids intend using the PS3 bring your own games unless they love Fifa. There is also a handy utility room for boots and coats. Kitchen is okay, we cook for ourselves more than most (dietary issues), but it met our needs. The oven / hob has seen better days but was serviceable, and there was plenty of crockery etc. It's not fancy but it's comfortable.
Things to be aware of:
You need to bring your own towels.
There's no dishwasher.
You pay extra for the electricity used - assume this is because all the heating is electric heaters, and none of the light bulbs (which were needed even during the day) were low energy. And it's an immersion heater for the hot water. We were reasonably careful and didn't need the heating much, it came to £20 for the week.
The door frames are LOW. I had to duck a couple of them and I'm only 5'6". My 6-foot husband had a very painful week. And there's a couple of beautiful beams he had to avoid too.
We enjoyed our week at Hendy.

Idyllic, peaceful, spacious and true escapism. Close to many attractions and beaches, splendid scenery and dappled stream for the kids to paddle in. Delightful to see the sheep, hens, dogs and horses at the farm. We will definitely return.
Washing machine and line a huge bonus.
Water pressure not so great. No problem-we had baths instead.

Location was beautiful but some issues with the cottage. The shower didn't work, it just produced a small trickle of water. There were no towels provided as expected, but also no soap in the main house which was strange and unexpected. Also had to pay separately for the electricity, which seemed a bit unfair, and a faff.

This is a very lovely cottage, on a really nice farm away from the main village, a short walk from pub. The owner is polite and very friendly. We had a comfortable stay. A but cold though, but this is Snowdonia! :-)
Lovely place and lovely owner. We wanted an old cottage with character where we could walk from the door and that’s exactly what we got. The only reason I didn’t give it 10 across the board was because I was expecting a wood burner and there wasn’t one. I will definitely come again.
Fabulous stay at Hendy. The cottage was lovely and better than we expected it to be. Great location (Caernarfon, seaside, mountains, Snowdon Ranger path trail 15 min drive, forest). If you like peace and quiet this place is for you. Only one little downside is the distance to the nearest shop. It's one small shop in the village but it's rather poorly supplied. The nearest shop is Tesco in Caernarfon. Other than that everything was spot on!
