A very small converted wooden garage in a corner of the owners driveway bang up against a high, very weedy bank. No opening windows in sitting room and bedroom and bedroom window blacked out. No outlook. All in all a poor let.

We arrived to a beautiful spotlessly clean cottage and met one of the owners John. He was very nice and talked away as if we had known each other for years and could not help enough. This is a cottage we would recommend to couples who want to relax and enjoy a quiet time very near to a great little village. We cannot praise Herons rest and the owners enough this with the beautiful surrounds and the great weather made our holiday worth while. All thats left to say if you are thinking of booking, dont think just book and you wont regret it but you will if you miss out.

Heron rest is ideal to explore the area around Loch Ness. A very well presented getaway for two with friendly owners. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again in the future.

We loved it at Heron's Rest. The cottage is perfect for two! The owners were lovely. The village is just up the road and we ate in 3 of the local places, all were fabulous. The Loch Ness Inn, Fiddler's and the Ness deli. We went out every day and saw some amazing sights. Unfortunately we didn't see Nessie!

This little cottage is exceptionally clean and has everything that you need for a comfortable stay. The owners are very warm and welcoming. We accidentally created a problem and they could not have been kinder or more helpful. We were warm and cozy and the pots and pans were all good (a rare thing indeed), with a beautiful gas hob and good oven. There was plentiful hot water, and excellent WiFi. Highly recommended.

We made the perfect choice booking Herons Rest. The location was great for everything we would want to do. The cottage itself was lovely, it was immaculate and so comfortable. We loved every minute of our holiday and would definitely return.

Had a great Christmas at Heron’s rest cottage, luckily the weather was great so we could discover local nature, Loch Ness exhibition centre, Divach and Plooda waterfalls, boat tour on the Loch ness, tour arround Urquhart castle, wiskey tasting at Glen Ord distillery, lovely meals at the local cafe and restaurant, etc. The cottage was very clean and cosy, open fire made it even better. The owners John, Catherine and young John were extremly nice and welcoming, big thank to them for been so helpfull with our outdoor activities, i would definitely visit it again. I highly recommend this cottage, you will not be dissapointed!

Herons View was a great first experience of cottaging for Sharon and I. The place was warm and cozy, at first seemed small but way big enough for us and the puppy! Well equipped in every way and although it was late November we had lovely weather! Didn’t get a chance to leave any feedback for the owners but in general 10/10!!

The little cottage was lovely, clean and cosy. We were anxious about the safety of our year old dog as the outside area was restricted and not secure with a busy road nearby. The owners were friendly and would certainly consider staying here again if it was just the two of us. Loved the area and the autumn colours were glorious.
