The ‘Old Ironstone Railway’ walk runs around the valley, and you can stop off at the inn for some local ales and traditional food.
The Yorkshire Cycle Hub at Fryup offers cycle hire alongside an excellent cafe. Dalby Forest is also great for cycling, with cycle hire and other adventure activities including zip wiring through the treetops. Be sure to visit Ampleforth Abbey with its serene Church and grounds to explore at your leisure. Ampleforth has a lovely tearoom open in the summer, as well as orchards and a cider mill.
