Decorated and furnished to a good standard this first floor apartment consists of one double bedroom, bathroom and open plan kitchen/living room. Private parking is available at the property along with cycle storage. Guests are free to use the owners’ large garden where you will be welcomed by the owners’ dog. Garden furniture is provided to enjoy an evening glass of wine whilst gazing over the stunning countryside views. Local attractions in Purleigh include Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome, take a step back in time and visit this fascinating attraction. The town of Maldon is nearby with the Blackwater Estuary, Beeleigh Abbey and RHS Garden, Hyde Hall. There is a golf course, 2 miles, and a golf range, also 2 miles in the opposite direction. Shop ½ mile, pub 1 mile, restaurant 4 miles.

A very small but cosy conversion in the countryside. Sadly the shower got cold very quickly. It was too small for us with our young baby but worked ok as a base to explore from.

When we arrived at the premises Hillcroft, it was blowing a gale and raining. However when we entered the premises there were electric storage heaters installed, but they we not switched on. The only other heating was an electric convector heater on the wall in the bedroom! Also, there was only a thin summer quilt on the double bed, and no additional bedding in the premises. When the owner arrived at 6:00PM, she stated that we could not use the storage heaters as they used too much electricity! Instead she offered a small oil filled electric radiator, and a winter quilt for the bed! We then found that there were no instructions for the bath shower, and the plug in the bathroom since did not hold the water in. As a result, we had to wash in the kitchen sink! The toilet seat was loose, and when you flushed the toilet it flushed twice by itself. There were no coat hangers in the wardrobe, so coats and shirts could only be hung on the back of the front door at the bottom of the stairs. The kitchen equipment was basic, with only essential utensils, the light over the cooker did not work, and was replaced by a battery light, but the batteries were dead! Need I say anymore! As a result of the cold accommodation, and the other points above, we have left the premises this morning. From the initial response by the owner I did not bother to raise these points with her.

Couldn't fault a thing. Very clean, well equipped, comfortable. Lovely lady, very friendly and kind. Would not hesitate in returning or recommending to anyone else.
