    These two holiday cottages (refs NP80 and NP81) are situated ½ mile from the shores of Lake Ullswater in superb surroundings. This working farm borders the River Eamont and is close to the craggy peaks of the lakeland fells. Fells nearby include the High Street range, 1 mile, and Helvellyn, 8 miles. Penrith, 6 miles. Windermere, 13 miles. Access is via a small, private holiday park under the same ownership. Good location for peace and quiet yet only ¼ mile walk to Pooley Bridge with shops, pubs, cafes and steamer trips. Young children’s play area and small football pitch nearby. NP81 is adjacent to the owners quiet seasonal holiday park with no letting or sub letting. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
    Garden Cottage can be booked together with Riverbank Cottage (ref NP80) to accomodate up to 12 guests.

    Cannot praise this cottage enough. Definitely home from home. We arrived to a lovely warm cottage, bedrooms beautiful, lovely spacious cosy lounge, fully equipped kitchen, we took extra pans and utensils but were not needed. Easy walking to Pooley Bridge and the lake. Will definitely stay here again, loved it.

    One small issue, the oven needs a service as it does not get up to temperature. Nearly had a chicken nightmare. Otherwise brilliant place to stay.

    Garden Cottage is a wonderful place to spend a holiday. We were there at Christmas 2018. The house itself is old and beautifully restored. It's spacious and comfortably accommodated our family of six. Dave and Angie are fantastic hosts. They had decorated the house with a huge tree and lots of festive touches, and left us a thoughtful and delicious gift. They also helped us by providing some extra kitchen equipment when we wanted to bake and even called us up quickly when we left some items behind. In terms of the accommodation, there are four bedrooms. Two are doubles, one is a twin and one is a single. The single has a TV. There are two bathrooms, one serving the bigger double and one serving the other double, the twin and the single. The kitchen is well equipped, although the oven has slight idiosyncrasies which we had to work around. The best room though is the living room which has big comfy sofas and armchairs and a large wood burner. We enjoyed cosy evenings there, but there is also a patio directly outside the living room which would be fantastic in the summer. There are bird feeders out on the patio and there was a constant stream of birds making the most of the food. All in all we would highly recommend this holiday home and would like to return for another visit in the future. Thank you Dave and Angie.

    Wonderfully spacious ,well equipped comfortable cottage with a roomy yet cosy vaulted lounge that provides the perfect space for a family group to gather in and relax at the end of the day.Garden cottage is situated in a very peaceful location on a working farm just outside Pooley Bridge, the village centre is just a two minute drive away or a pleasant ten minute riverside walk across a field . The farm is surrounded by beautiful countryside and the tops of the fells and glimpses of Ullswater can be seen from the grounds.The owners who live on site are extremely helpful and friendly but not at all intrusive. We enjoyed a very pleasant stay and would definitely return.
