Generally very good, but a few minor niggles: i) BT Box in the bedroom had a very bright light that we couldn't cover and it kept us awake; ii) Bathroom towels didn't dry out once used; iii) we chose the cottage noting it was pet friendly, which was stressed in the welcome pack. We were surprised that guests are not allowed to leave pets unattended in the property.

Honeypot Cottage was a really delightful base for our holiday. It was beautifully furnished and decorated. There are few minor things it would have benefitted from: - an outdoor drying area. It seemed wrong to be using the tumble dryer when it was so sunny and breezy outside - a extractor fan in the kitchen - we struggled to cook bacon and sausages on the hob without setting the smoke alarms off. It put us off using the kitchen to cook which was a shame - a full length mirror. It’s unusual not to have a full length mirror somewhere in a holiday cottage - a hairdryer. It just would have been handy. I didn’t bring my own because there’s always been a hairdryer in hotels and cottages I’ve stayed in previously. - a

Lovely place and friendly owners. If Im being picky only things I can find to say are no charge point for electric toothbrush and no instructions for local dog walks. Both easily worked round. Truly lovely holiday accomodation.

Our third - that’s THIRD - visit to Honeypot Cottage in the last year and that should tell you everything you need to know. Honeypot is an absolute gem set in magnificent surroundings, furnished to an exceptionally high standard throughout by amazing hosts Tom and Cas. Rothbury is a wonderful little town that has barely changed over the last forty years, with a host of charming little shops, including one of the best bakeries you’ll find in England. A gentle meander from the cottage opens up the Coquet Valley and Cragside moors, with the National Trust property of the same name nearby. Alnwick Castle is one of several historic landmarks within a short drive and the wide beaches of Northumberland coast are also close by.... However, as good as the surrounding area is, visiting these locations means spending time away from Honeypot Cottage, which is not something you’ll want to do. A warm fireside, luxurious bathrooms (with handmade soaps!), super comfy sofas and beds and lightning fast WiFi make this place really stand out. We can’t wait to get back for visit number four!

The cottage was beautifully fitted out and the owners extremely helpful and friendly. Plenty of walks for the dogs and pubs and most shops welcomed them. There is a very steep walk from the town up to the cottage, which is the only downside. But would still recommend it.
