• About Ingleby Lodge

Dating back to the 17th Century the charming, spacious and well equipped farmhouse is located in a glorious position overlooking the fields and fells of Wensleydale. There are beamed ceilings with views across open farmland from many of its windows. The property is complemented by an attached barn conversion – the East Wing.

The generous and adaptable accommodation offers spacious living and sleeping arrangements - with eight bedrooms, two sitting rooms and a large dining kitchen as well as a breakfast kitchen. Large family groups and friends holidaying together will discover for themselves the flexibility Ingleby Lodge can offer. Whether the property is enjoyed as a large ’open house’ or guests choose to separate the accommodation to best suit their own arrangements, this delightful property is becoming quite a find for larger numbers.

The private south facing patio and walled garden provides an excellent opportunity in which to relax and enjoy the scenery after a day out exploring.

Ideally situated for walks or cycling directly from the doorstep the farmhouse is perfect for families or friends wishing to enjoy short breaks or holidays in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Close by the pretty villages of Bainbridge (1 mile) and Askrigg (2 miles) are within walking distance providing pubs serving good food and the market town of Hawes (4 miles) has tea rooms, pubs, convenience stores and interesting small shops to browse around. Slightly further along the dale, the historic town of Richmond has further amenities along with a Georgian Theatre, Leyburn has a weekly market and Tennants Auction House is well worth a visit to hunt for a bargain. The cathedral city of Ripon and Skipton with its medieval castle are also worthy of a visit. Good fishing is available on the nearby River Ure is also available by day ticket from the local Angling Association; you can even purchase your free-range eggs from the owner’s flock of varied breeds housed nearby.

Really beautiful cottage and location. Owners are next door and very lovely people. Cottage was spotless and plenty of room for everyone (we had both wings of the house). We had a great time and would highly recommend!

Our walking group enjoyed a very pleasant weekend in march 2019. The property had everything we needed and the owner was very helpful. We would definitely use this property again when we are in this area.

Good cottage for a large group. Good accommodation and comfortable too. Owners next door if any issues. Not far from Hawes and Askrigg which have good pubs and shops but no real supermarket. Saying that if you are looking for outdoors and marvellous scenery this is the one

Excellent place for a large group. Rooms are a little small but usable. Generally could do with better utensils pots and pans in kitchen but functional. Beds a little small but comfy. The location is beautiful and the owners very welcoming. Askrigg is just over 1.5 miles away with lots of good amenities. We would stay here again, great value for money.

This was an amazing cottage and had everything that we needed. We stayed for a 60th birthday and aged from 1 to 78 and we all had a fab time. Lots of space but equally we could all be together! Owner was friendly but didn’t see much of them. A great place to stay!

We have had the most wonderful holiday break for my brother in laws 50th birthday. The lodge is amazing so much space and total relaxation. Carol and Derek are on hand for anything but never impose upon you. I can,t recommend Ingleby Lodge highly enough, simply awesome. Walks from the front door, barn owls hunting in the fields , the views are stunning. 10 out of 10!

We booked Ingleby Lodge to celebrate my 50th and it was perfect for a family occasion. Warm and cosy and a home from home with plenty of hot water too. Stunning location with good walks nearby. Would go back again.

Spectacular views from Ingleby Lodge and a wonderful location. The house is warm and all rooms are a good size. The dining area was big enough to adequately sit 15 people and the kitchen big enough and well equipped enough to cope (just take a decent carving knife for roasts as we struggled with the ones provided). A really enjoyable week in good quality accommodation with oodles of hot water (you'll need to take your own bathroom soaps), effective heating, ample parking and good sized rooms. We could also take our 2 small dogs so they could benefit from some fabulous walks. Highly recommended.

Very good. We liked the position, quiet and lovely views . Enjoyed the walks and visited the area by car , Swaledale and further explored Wensleydale. The house was good, used all bedrooms and the cooking facilities and equipment were good. It was ideal for a family reunion and was enjoyed by all, a bbq we had the pleasure one night and that was magical. Certainly would go again and recommend to pepole who like the quiet, country side, must be organised in supplies ( not the place to pop out to the shops! )
