This is a comfortable and spacious cottage in an idyllic location with a good number of walks from the door. We have stayed here several times, although the last time was 4 years ago, and although just a party of three, the new bathrooms were lovely and a welcome addition. However the wardrobe in the second bedroom was a miss, as was the wall cupboard in the kitchen which was useful for storing tins etc. Also there no longer seemed to be an airer for drying wet walking clothes. The welcome pack was much appreciated, as was the extra parking permit. Although the cottage was initially a bit cold, it soon warmed up, and this is a lovely base from which to explore a beautiful part of the country.

Pleased that cleaner informed the office immediately that we had left a mobile phone behind when we departed. Plumbing a bit eccentric; hot taps turning the wrong way were confusing and dangerous. All old beams were fake !

We have had many cottage holidays and found that this was quite poorly equipped. It was things like not having oven gloves, oven door wasn't well sealed so could see heat just coming out, no basic soap in upstairs bathrooms etc. Most cottages have a welcome pack of either cake, wine, flowers, eggs, butter etc which have been common for years, so pint of semi skimmed milk appeared quite mean. The cottage was in a good location, for the walking holiday that we wanted although if been height of season, may have been noisy from 2 pubs very close by. We booked this cottage quite late so it was well discounted price wise. Certainly wouldn't have been value for money at full price and even reduced price thought was pricey.
