Had a four day break which was ok, comfortable apart from the bathroom which is very compact and tired. On arrival we informed the owners that the television wasn’t working, we felt that they thought it was something we were doing wrong, contacted owners again on the third night to say that it was still a problem, a neighbour/friend called in to check it and agreed there was a problem, an engineer arrived on day four and replaced the aerial.

Third visit to cottage. Like walking down the lanes to the beach.

Quite simply as soon as I arrived it felt like home

This was a last minute booking which turned out to be an excellent choice. Jackdaw is a slightly quirky cottage, comfortable, well equipped and warm (extensive wood - and coal- store in the outhouse). There's a certain amount of watching your head when moving around and the upstairs bathroom is tasteful but bijou. However as a winter let it is cosy - for those visiting in the warmer months - there's a pleasant 'private' garden. There's reasonably easy access to the Lakes (particularly the Duddon Valley and Coniston area) but I spent most of my time on 'the peninsula - low level walking (without the crowds)! I would certainly use this cottage again.

Our second visit to Jackdaw Cottage. Everything you could possibly need is supplied. The wood burner was easy to use and there was a bottle of wine in the fridge when we arrived. A very cosy cottage in this quiet village. Thoroughly recommended.

Hi, thank you for a lovely stay. Very pleased with how equipped you were and especially with the supply for the fuel burner, we were very cold and it helped ! I cant fault anything ?

Fantastic location for us re visiting places we remember as children when our Nana lived in Barrow. Lovely cottage quiet and comfortable, well equipped and very clean. The coastal scenery is wonderful.
