The owner is lovely but the standard of cleanliness was really awful. When we arrived the cottage hadn't been cleaned or bedding changed. We pulled out a cutting board that was covered in mould. We had to wash everything before it could be used. There was a lot of dust on shelving where glasses are kept, dead flies on window ledges. The whole place needed a deep clean. Overall the place looked really shabby and unloved, which is a shame as Jarvies cottage has such a lot of potential and could be really charming if it was loved enough and looked after.

Jarvies Cottage is a lovely place to stay. Fully equipped cottage, it had everything we needed for self catering. The cream tea, bread and milk left for us by the owners was a really kind gesture and very welcome. The garden is really private and enclosed, where my daughters and dog spent many evenings relaxing. Overall the cottage and area were perfect for us and would highly recommend it. But it is a very long steep hill from the centre of Boscastle town to the cottage which was not a problem for us, but if you have difficulty walking then it may be

Arrived at the cottage around 4:30 on a bit of a cold October day to find the cottage lovely & warm & very cosy. Cream tea provided was lovely. There was plenty of room for 4 adults. Location was great, a minutes walk to the Napoleon Inn, a very nice pub & restaurant & 10-15 minute walk to the harbour. Only stayed for the weekend but would definitely return for longer. Would recommend this cottage for sure.

Excellent location. Shops down the hill. Boscastle lovely, a must is Padstow. Really enjoyed every minute. Parking a little tight as stated after booking. Parking space is fine just a small alley to get to it. Family loved the visit and the cottage was excellent.

it was a terrible place to stay and dirty the kitchen was very bad the bin unemptied the toaster not cleaned for months the same for the grill and oven covered in grease and the pot of jam left for the cream tea had been opened and used by someone else and that was atrocious
