Pleasant stay close historic sites in both England and Scotland and close to the Lakes district for hiking.

The cottage is finished to a very high standard. The secluded garden is great and the hot tub is amazing, just what’s need to relax in at the end of a day.

This particular cottage would have benefitted from providing basics in a welcome pack eg tea/coffee, bread, butter, milk. Lack of extra towels, a bath mat, essentials like kitchen roll and washing powder detracted from it too. However, lovely hot tub, very comfortable, relaxing break.

Stayed at this lovely cottage for a week with my partner for a relaxing getaway. The hot tub is superb no matter the weather, very private and secluded and sheltered from the elements. The rest of the cottage is very well decorated, with a cosy country feel to it as well as being modern. There is a walk just outside the back garden that takes you along the river Esk, nice for a relaxing walk. There is a selection of local businesses within a few minutes walk from the property, including a few cafes, a bakery and a butcher, all providing fresh local produce at good prices. The hosts have been very helpful and communication with them was easy. Overall great value for money, would definitely stay again.

Great cottage, very quiet, lovely hot tub, comfortable bed. Only thing missing in the kitchen was a pair of scissors ? Location very good for Scotland and also the Lakes

A beautiful retreat in a great location, lots to see and do right on the doorstep. Great local amenities. Very relaxing and the hot tub is amazing. We visitied Gretna Green and got engaged there so this cottage will always be a special memory to us both. Will be visiting again and definitely recommending to family and friends.

An absolutely wonderful cottage, there is always the worry that the pictures won’t reflect the accommodation accurately but this place is just as dreamy in real life. Really well maintained and every effort to make it a home from home has been made by the owners. From hair dryers to kitchen roll you name it it’s there. The bed is exceptionally comfy, the bath room is spectacular and oh my goodness the hot tub is on another level!! The river walk is a must and literally a stones throw from the back garden. There is little to do in the immediate locality but still offers the necessities such as a small shop, takeaway food, cafes and a pub. However you’re not much more than a short car journey from the lakes etc etc so it really is a perfect base. Would absolutely 100% book again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was very comfortable and felt lovely and spacious for the two of us. Relaxing in the hot tub proved a great way to start our evenings and we appreciated the private setting. We found the location ideal for various surrounding areas of interest and local amenities made our visit trouble free. We hope to be back.

Absolutely loved our stay at key to the esk the cottage is lovely really quiet area the hot tub is amazing with the Bluetooth speakers built in and it being undercover made it even better being able to relax in it even in the rain, the bathroom was out of this world especially the bath ? the cottage was so clean and had everything you needed Only comment I have is that the path to the hot tub is very slippy when it’s wet when you have the slippers on other than that everything was perfect would definitely stay again
