    Owner very pleasant and helpful but property needs a lot of updating and road to property is very bad. A number of items do not work and we feel property could do with an inspection.

    The farmhouse is in a perfect location. But, it was very basic for the price and not clean. There was a strong damp smell in the kitchen and dead flies on every windowsill. The bedding and towels were very basic. There were lamps that didn't work. The washing machine flooded the kitchen floor. The owner was obliging when we pointed out broken lamps but there was a lot that was still wrong. We wouldn't book this cottage again unless there were serious improvements.

    Ian is a very helpful host. The farmhouse is part of a working farm and is set about 1 mile from the main road - peace and tranquillity. Enclosed garden is safe for dogs. Beds are very comfortable and the whole house is perfectly clean. The gentle sound of sheep lulls you to sleep. The view of farmland and rolling hills is perfect for an evening sitting out and sipping scotch. Girvan, Stranraer, Ayr and Newton Stewart are all within 30 mins and there are various visitor attractions close by (check out A.D. Rattray's Whiskey Tasting Experience). We had a great time.
