    Bathroom: With shower over P-shaped bath, toilet and heated towel rail.

    Enclosed yard to the rear with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Bike store. On road parking. No smoking.

    Kittiwakes is on a quiet street, within a gentle stroll from the high street and harbour in this small, friendly, fishing town. With spacious living accommodation, this lovely terraced house is perfect for relaxing in after a day out exploring the area. Amble is reputedly the friendliest port, with a working harbour, marina and a small beach. Down on the harbour there are some small fish restaurants, as well as two fish and chip shops and an Italian-style, ice cream shop. Boat trips are available from here to Coquet Island to see the RSPB bird sanctuary. The historic village of Warkworth is only 2 miles away. The pubs, bespoke shops and pretty riverside make this a popular little place to visit. The town of Alnwick, with its cobbled streets and famous castle, which featured in ’Harry Potter’ and ’Downton Abbey’, is 15 minutes’ drive away. The Alnwick Garden, with its spectacular Grand Cascade Waterfall and the worlds largest treehouse restaurant, is well worth a visit. Amble is on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which includes the Heritage coastline and some of the most unspoilt beaches in England, and many footpaths and cycle paths. Beach ½ mile. Shop 400 yards, pub and restaurant 600 yards.

    Kittiwakes is a lovely, stylish house with very comfortable furniture. Everything has been thought of and provided for a home from home stay. It’s only around 5 minutes walk to the harbour area which has been really improved since we last visited. It was a really pleasant surprise. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed walking along the beach and to Warkworth Castle. The little back yard is a great sun trap for sitting out and there’s a good field next to the house for walking dogs early morning or for their last potter around in the evening. A good short break which we really enjoyed. The only slight issue we had was that the neighbour is currently renovating their property and, as it has been taken right back to brick, we could hear them really clearly through the party wall quite late into the first night. Kittiwakes owners have no control over that and it was only on the Friday evening. Hopefully it won’t take too long to complete the work.

    Great cottage, very spacious, absolutely everything there you could possibly need. Nice and clean and comfortable. Good central base for exploring Northumberland with some lovely beaches nearby (Druridge bay). Short walk to the harbour and main shopping street. Not in the best area of Amble and parking is pot luck in front of the house although we always managed to get a space.

    Kittiwakes is a fantastic holiday home in a great location. The house is spotless and has everything you need. Amble is a beautiful village and locals very friendly. Will definitely be on our list to visit again.

    Our only criticism is that compared to our previous visit in 2018 the house looked tired: stained carpet in lounge, cobwebs and dirty window frames. Otherwise a lovely visit. Thanks

    A lovely cottage based in beautiful Amble. Lots to see at the harbour, plenty of shops and restaurants and local ‘pods’ selling all the holiday items you could require. A true home from home, Kittiwakes is our favourite cottage in Northumberland so far - and we hope to return soon!

    can not fault Kittiwakes in any way, everything you could want is in the cottage, spotless with beautiful furnishings. Thanks to Northumberland cottages for finding Kittiwakes for us as pretty late booking, guess only still available as not in brochure for 2018.

    This house was very comfortable and nicely furnished. An enclosed backyard which was handy for our dog, and a field at the side of the house ideal for her morning/evening walks. The town was less than a five minutes walk, and though it was just one street, had everything you mght need, and it was so nice to see independant shops seemingly doing well. This was our second visit to Amble this year, the first time we have ever gone back to a place, but it seems to have everything we need, and there are so many lovely places to visit. I would highly recommend bith Amble and Kittiewakes.

    Kittiwakes is one the best appointed holiday cottages we have ever stayed in; and we've stayed in quite a few! Comfortable, clean, well - equipped and surprisingly spacious. It is within easy walking distance of the main shopping street in Amble, and only a 10 minute stroll from the busy harbour. For dog owners like ourselves, the fields next to the house, were very convenient and provided many interesting smells! Would not hesitate to stay again.
