The view from the deck made the whole holiday, truly stunning. So many walks and cycling trails in the area, many straight from the cottage. Good local pubs and stunning scenery.

The only issue here is that in my being honest about my view of this property, I might not get booked again! In a word, it was perfect in everyway. Beautiful cottage with everything any guest could possibly wish to have. From the second we entered the hallway on our arrival, I knew that the owners were the kind who genuinely want their guests to feel at home, as opposed to the sort who see it purely as a business. The attention to detail is excellent, with every kind of cosy addition imaginable. Gorgeous throws, pretty curtains, lovely big sofas and comfy beds. The shower pressure is great and oh, what a view from the loo! Amazing welcome basket, so thoughtful. The only item I can't vouch for is the TV, purely because we didn't turn it on once in 5 days, why would we with such spectacular scenery! The views from the rear terraced decking were outstanding, especially watching the Ospreys circling the lake at 9am every morning. The deer grazing on the side of the dam every morning and evening just added to the overall peace and tranquillity of the surroundings. I cannot recommend this property enough but please don't all rush at once, as I plan to return soon, so leave some availability for me! Thank you Simon and Zina, you have a real gem in Lake View Cottage and made my son and I feel very welcome :)

The beauty of this cottage is its remoteness. Therefore do not expect lots of shops on your doorstep. Bellingham has everything you could need. The cottage itself is beautiful, tranquil, warm, comfortable, well-appointed. The view from the back of the cottage is amazing. Partridges and deer were our neighbours! Definitely for those who love the outdoors with walks straight out. Very good communication with the owners. Would return.

Beautiful cottage in outstanding location. Gorgeous furnishings and very well equipped - the hosts have put a lot of thought into what you’ll need during your stay. You’ll need to plan ahead for provisions, but the location and outdoor facilities nearby mean you’ll not want to leave even for a minute. Worst case of holiday blues ever on return to work - will definitely be back soon!

We had a really lovely 5 night stay. The cottage was well equipped and in a really peaceful location. Although the nearest supermarket was 12 miles away the camp site shop 5 minutes drive away was well stocked with essentials and we had 2 lovely meals at The Boat Inn there. It is great to be able to walk/ cycle straight from the cottage due to it being right on the dam.

A beautiful comfy cottage that we can't wait to return to. Every piece of decor, from the sumptuous bedding and fluffy throws to unique lighting, makes this an ideal place to stay. The owners, who are unbelievably helpful with any queries, have thought of everything; including dvd's, games, torches and extra blankets. Coal and logs are provided using an honesty box system, which proved to be very convenient. The kitchen has everything you need, and more! The view from the decking is unbelievable; we saw a family of deer on the dam slope, every morning. We cannot recommend this cottage enough.

Very well equipped cottage for self catering. There is no local shop ,so you need to be very organised for supplies. Lovely location. Electric heating ,a bonus was the log burner. Starter fuel provided and plenty of logs and solid fuel, paid for via an “honesty box”. Terrace behind the cottage is an ideal place to view the Kielder “dark skies”. Good communication from the owner throughout. Would highly recommend this cottage.

The cottage is in a stunning location overlooking the dam and water. It is a perfect base for a walking or cycling holiday. It is quite far from any town and part of the attraction is the peace and quiet and amazing dark skies at night. The cottage is beautifully decorated, warm and cosy with the log burner. The owners have thought of everything you could need. It is really well equipped and a charming place to stay. Highly recommended.

We loved the area. The view each morning and evening was amazing. So easy to access some lovely walks that even our 2 year old grandson managed. Birds of Prey centre was a great success and Kielder forest and castle superb. We were comfortable and any problems (of which we had only 1) were dealt with immediately. Thank you
