For a real cottage holiday, look no further than this delightful, quirky terraced cottage, next to the owner’s home and set down a quiet lane in the hamlet of Kirkmichael. Original features such as the traditional open fire in the living room have been preserved to enhance the cosy atmosphere. It still heats the water when the fire is on, but an alternative system is in place for warm sunny days, when instead of curling with a good book by the fire, you can sit outside either on the balcony or in the spacious garden just across the path, and soak up the sun.

The Cateran Trail runs right past the house; a circular walk of forest, farmland and hills of 64 miles, encompassing Blairowrie, Kirkmichael, Glenshee, Glenisla and Alyth. Walk as much or as little as you like in stunning scenery. Pitlochry and Blairgowrie are less than 13 miles from the village, and both have plenty to see and do, including the famous fish ladder and Festival Theatre in Pitlochry. There is a championship golf course in Blairgowrie, not to mention great local produce for which the area is famed. Kirkmichael itself has a good local shop and café, as well as restaurants for dining or enjoying a drink, a tennis court and riverside walks. A real haven for rest and relaxation. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant 350 yards.

Cozy and comfortable cottage in one of the most breathtaking areas of Scotland. The house offers everything your heart desires. The most necessary things for everyday life can be obtained in the village shop. We will come back :)

Lovely little cottage in a beautiful setting. Lots of great walks nearby and fantastic little enclosed garden across a small quiet road. The welcome pack was a nice touch too. Would highly recommend this cottage if you are looking for a peaceful break close to nature.

Cosy cottage in lovely location. Some upgrading to equipment would be advantageous and also a little more attention to overall cleanliness but we did not let this affect our enjoyment of the holiday.

This cottage should only be for 2 people, the single bed is in nothing more than a cupboard and our daughter wept when we arrived and she saw where she was supposed to sleep. The TV is behind the sofa! and the table does not have space for 3 to eat at it! The whole cottage needs a revamp and shabby not chic would best describe it! Certainly the most disappointing cottage we have ever stayed in. I am not a negative person but the holiday was a 50th birthday treat for my husband - for what we paid I was shocked with what we got! On the plus side the weather was good and the red squirrels were great to watch out of the kitchen window.

A lovely cosy cottage in a stunning location. Ideal for walking and our four legged friends. I have scored a little low for amenities as it is very rural and other than a small shop there aren’t any!! Howevever as an escape from everything it is ideal and we found it charming and romantic.

We had a fabulous time. Loved the location. Great walks for our dogs. We were lucky with the weather, the autumn colours were gorgeous. Lovely, friendly owner who popped in with extra logs for the fire?

We had a fantastic time. The cottage was cozy and we had everything our hearts desired. The owners were very welcoming and always had time to show us the impressive area. We had great walks. Thank you so much for that! You made our holiday unforgettable. ? A small shop nearby had everything for daily needs. We wanted to stay and will definitely come back. My son misses Fynn and Jack Jack a lot. Greetings from Germany

We struggled to find the cottage at first as the plants around the door had grown over the sign completely covering the name. The cottage was decent size but not to the standard we were expecting for the price we paid. It was scruffy and not very clean for being a rental cottage. It's described as a traditional Scottish cottage but scruffy and confused decor with a lot of Spanish artwork. Very cold, which is expected from an old Scottish cottage. There are electric heaters but they didn't seem safe to leave on overnight, especially as the one in the hall was held against the wall with a doorstop, so woke up to a cold cottage. Not enough fuel to keep the fire going overnight. We completely agree with a previous review that it felt like you were staying at a friend's rather than a holiday let. The local pub, The Kirkmichael Inn, was very friendly with lovely food. The local shop doesn't have much in it and if arriving on a Sunday like we did, check in is at 3pm but the shop shuts at 2pm so make sure you take supplies with you as there's nothing in the cottage except a few sachets of coffee, a couple of teabags and little cartons of milk like you would find in a hotel. We were booked in for two nights but after a very uncomfortable sleep on top of everything else, we left after just one night.
