we had a great week at Laurel bank and loved the surrounding area. I am a little biased of course as I was born in Dundee.! the only real complaint is the bed settee in the kitchen/dining room ,,its kind of lumpy and a little past the sell by date. other than that everything is great. there was a lovely welcome pack waiting for us,fresh flowers biscuits ,butter and milk etc. greatly appreciated. there are some fantastic walks to be done,i highly recommend the den of alyth which will take you 30 minutes to reach but really well worth going. all the locals are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble if you need advice or information. Enjoy.1

be aware if you need a shower with wall rails for support there aren't any, my wife was recovering from a broken hip not bothering to take her stool and found it difficult. Also the wifi can be a slight niggle and the owner is trying to sort it but after all your are meant to be chilling out in the sticks. We can't thank the owner enough, first rate highly recommend!

Our five day break at Laurel Bank was wonderful, I would heartily recommend it to anyone, so quiet and peaceful and the owner, Heather, so helpful and friendly but not at all intrusive, her dog Bella gave us a very warm welcome too, or maybe that was actually for our dog, but she was very happy to have her belly rubbed (the dog, of course!)

Super accommodation, met our needs and our dog was welcome too. As per description, the kitchen is simple but adequate. Beautiful shared garden with private patio. Rural setting but local towns/cities easily accessible.

Cute little annex, lovely garden, very clean, welcome milk, eggs, flowers and biscuits. Owner very friendly and helpful. An excellent stop over for a couple of nights on our road trip north. Very pleased we stayed here.

Laurel Bank is lovely. I gave an 8 for local amenities only because you need a car to access them. The cottage was small but cleverly fitted out so that there was everything that you needed without being cluttered. The garden and sitting out area through the french doors was ideal, especially as we were lucky enough to get the weather. The views from the cottage are gorgeous, the surrounding countryside is stunning and New Alyth is within very easy driving distance of all the small and major towns in Angus and Perthshire. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a central base for exploring and who wants to return to a cosy, rural cottage in the evening. (Although we didn't use them, there are two places to eat within five minutes walking distance.)

What a treat to find homelaid eggs waiting for our first breakfast. That was a really nice touch. Everything was impeccably clean. Lovely walled patio offering protection from the wind with stunning panoramic views to the south. We had our morning coffee in the sun each day of our stay. Our dog was very relaxed there and enjoyed a wide variety of walks in the immediate area. Beautiful drive to reach New Alyth with a lot of country lanes to explore.

The cottage was lovely and the welcome pack was much appreciated especially the fresh eggs. Very nice couple who own it though we didn’t see much of them, lovely walks nearby with our dog and a good base for getting around. 10/10
