Set right in the heart of the market town of Leyburn in the midst of beautiful Wensleydale, this cosy terraced holiday cottage is so pretty and welcoming. Renovated by the owners to a good standard, it is comfortably furnished and caters for your every need. With nearby parking you can simply park up, unpack and enjoy!
The cottage retains its charm with beams and wooden floors, a window seat to sit and read a book and an inglenook fireplace with electric wood burner, so curl up and make yourself cosy. The stylish kitchen with modern appliances is well-equipped to rustle up a romantic meal or brunch for friends. Upstairs is a beautifully styled master bedroom with a gorgeous comfortable bed with crisp stylish bedding, and a further room with bunk beds, appealing to a couple, small family or group of friends. The cottage has a small enclosed outside patio, south facing with comfortable rattan furniture. Imagine starting the day with breakfast al fresco or enjoy a late glass of wine as the sun goes down.
The cottage is set just behind the market square with quaint local shops and cafés, traditional pubs and a weekly farmers’ market. Leyburn, the ’gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park’, is the perfect base for guests to enjoy walking, cycling, sightseeing or just a quiet, romantic break. Stroll along the famous Leyburn Shawl, which is only a few steps from the Market Place in the centre of Leyburn, and is accessible for walkers of all abilities and ages.
A short drive away is Hardraw, home to England’s highest unbroken waterfall. Why not visit Castle Bolton, Middleham Castle, Constable Burton Hall Gardens or the nearby Aysgarth Falls? Hop on the Wensleydale Vintage Bus to Ripon or Hawes, or ride the train on the Wensleydale Railway. Visit the nearby Forbidden Corner attraction in Coverdale where guests can follow a trail of follies, or head to the Georgian market town of Richmond, which offers many shops, restaurants, pubs and tea shops. This beautiful and historic town is settled high above the River Swale and offers panoramic views of the surrounding area and the chance to browse the weekly market and monthly farmers’ market with local produce and crafts. Within an easy 2-hour drive is the historic cathedral city of Durham with its cathedral, castle and city walls. Popular York, with its minster and the Jorvik Centre, is also further afield but worth the trip out. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
