The property has an open plan living space on the first floor. The kitchen is well equipped with all appliances needed to cook up a storm in the kitchen whilst watching the tide come in. The ground floor occupies three good size bedrooms, comprising a master with en-suite, a further double room and a twin room. The family bathroom has been finished to a tasteful standard and occupies a large rainfall shower.
Waren Mill is a beautiful seaside village occupying stunning views across Lindisfarne and Holy Island. For a wider choice of places to eat, take a short 3-mile drive into Bamburgh and Seahouses, or if the tide times are kind, on to Holy Island. 2-minutes from Waren mill is the tranquil seaside escape Budle Bay, a beautiful bird sanctuary with huge mud flats that are exposed at low tide. The whole area is part of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve and is very popular with birdwatchers, particularly in the winter when thousands of wildfowl and waders spend their winter on the bay’s mud flats.
Various water sports are also popular in Budle Bay in the summer months. The bay provides shallow conditions that are particularly good for kite surfing at any level. Nearby Bamburgh has its own 18-hole golf course at the north end of the village. The course offers stunning views across the beaches, countryside and of Bamburgh Castle, and the village itself is often quoted as the most scenic course in Britain. The course has a clubhouse that welcomes visitors at all times of the year and also serves food for those who choose to play here.
Bamburgh is one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, open to the public on a daily basis. Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants, a butcher and a couple of village shops for essential groceries.
