With views of the River Teign and a short walk to Shaldon Beach, the four holiday properties at Longmeadow Farm are situated on the owner’s family run, 80-acre farm and campsite. Forge Cottage (ref 28221) which is close to the owners home is a detached first floor apartment sleeping two. The Cob Barn (ref UKC1852) is a detached, two-storey cottage, set at the top of the farm, close to The Old Piggery (ref UKC2619) which is a detached cottage sleeping two guests. The Cob Barn and The Old Piggery (ref UKC2619) share the courtyard garden and offer privacy from the other cottages. Oyster Meadow (ref UK30754) adjoins the main farmhouse and is perfect for that family break offering shared use of the lawn and patio area, perfect for an evening barbecue along with a small private garden.
Children will love the farm animals which include sheep, kunekune pigs, miniature Shetland ponies, free range chickens and goats. Wander the narrow streets of Shaldon, Smuggler’s Cove beach, play a round of pitch and putt or have a bite to eat in one of the many pubs. Shaldon is located on the South West Coastal Path, a 630-mile journey with beautiful views, allowing walkers to enjoy any part of the route. Both Dartmoor National Park and Exeter are only 20 minutes’ drive away, whilst the famous south Devon coast, with wonderful sandy beaches, is barely 3 miles.
Exeter and Newton Abbot racecourses, several golf courses, lots of family theme parks, Paignton Zoo, sailing and fishing can all be found within easy reach. Numerous National Trust properties are close by, including Agatha Christie’s Greenway. Steam trains travel from Kingswear to Paignton, and Totnes to Buckfastleigh. Visit historic Dartmouth, with its bustling boat harbour and a castle, or Salcombe with its beaches and sailing. Kent’s Cavern, Model Village and Shaldon Zoo, and of course many tea shops, all serving Devon cream teas, can be found within easy reach. You can enjoy water sports, horse riding, golf and nature reserves, all close by. Take a trip from Torquay harbour to Brixham by boat, or visit the theatre in Torquay. Beach 1½ mile. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub ½ mile.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 13 guests.
